Oh, you mean there aren't any girl fights or drunken nights at TASP?

Guess I was mistaken...

Oh, you mean there aren't any girl fights or drunken nights at TASP?

Guess I was mistaken...

Haha, princess. Yes you were mistaken. Well there were some girl issues and conflicts but nothing physical.
haha.

And I wasnt dissapointed, I was happy with the results. I just didnt get a 240 like the rest of my school was vying for.
My sub-200 score is plenty good for me. I improved a lot since last year too :-)

jenny, i <3 you :)

are you talking about TASP or TASS, corey? we actually had little to no drama/conflicts at all, when i think about it, although i know that was not the case with the other seminars.

We did have water fights, dogpiles, finger fencing (best game ever?), arm wrestling, showdowns between Fan Club and Oppressive Space club, punch buggy-ing, chicken fights, sock wrestling (oh my), and other assorted fun though.

No drama, roam, wait - don't you remember that one night near the end of TASP when "that girl" and I fought over who got to cut you-know-who's hair? She had really sharp nails; I think I still have scars (both physical and emotional). Luckily I managed to get in a few good punches, I know it was awfully awkward for her to explain that black eye to her parents when she went home! Hehe.

haha Tako
you are crazy
ever think about how our childhood is so unique compared to other generations
we make worldwide connections on a daily basis
who are these phenomenal ppl on the other end... maybe we will meet up
maybe we see each other on TV or in magazines
maybe our kids our taught by them

egh, i can't think of a conflict that i've had that is worth writing about, let alone two pages of writing.

I just had the most AWFUL conflict today...I don't think I'll be able to get it down to 2 pages :)

plus there were way too many explitives...I don't think TASP would appreciate that sort of language...

hehe....hello people, i discovered this thread and felt i should totally join.
whoo TASP...lol

Haha, Princess! YAY CONFLICTS!

degoutant while that is frustrating in terms of this essay, I must say you are lucky. :-)
--Remember it doesnt have to be some huge personal moral dilemma or anything. You can write about an obstacle or issue you have faced, such as in a project or making a decision.

Good Luck!

Roam, I was more thinking of the premise of realworld. Like the strangers living together for set period of time and in a "confined" location, who have to work together (go to seminar). I considered the bulk of the drama together with the trashy aspects of the school.

in all truth i feel like a personal conflict no matter how well written and all that would seem very self centered. hmm maybe that's just me...
and great simile lobster, the realworld or maybe collegehill seeing as how we were supposed to be learning.

Hey! That was MY similie. Give me credit!

Now that's self-centered.

Maybe I should include the Real World thing in one of my essays...

Poll: Who's started writing? Which essays? How many paragraphs/pages?
princessbell: I've started essay 2 (the problem/issue one), and I free wrote about 2 single spaced paragraphs, which I then reread and hated, and reworked for about an hour before giving up and coming on CC...I have ideas for the others, but I'm afraid to write them down.

Oh, and just a random musing of mine: You know how you think of something, and it sounds AMAZING in your head, and you rush the computer/piece of paper to write it down before you lose it, and then you can't get the right balance of words because it's SO hard to put thoughts into words? And then you feel horrible because you can't get it right?

That's how I feel right now.

book list. and boy, is it a pathetic one at that.

radionowhere=applicant who wont stop freaking out about the book list on this thread.

ps - i cant think of a conflict either... but if i write it in haiku, well then, it will only have to be three lines...

oh ps princess AMEN about the random musing -- i feel that all the time. especially when i've read a really great writer for a while and come up with a great idea and then i try to write it and im soo sooo soooo critical of what comes out i just freeze.. this is what peter elbow talks about in his book writing with power - just get over the bad sounds of the words and get it out -- you can fix it later. problem - im hypercritical and cant get to that stage =]

i started the problem in the community one. got out over a page. and went to revising it and just tore it to pieces.
as far as booklists go, radio i think that should be the least of your worries.
and sorry princess

Haha, yes princess came up with the real world connection.

I have written nothing.

And then when I set up an account on the online app last night, it wouldnt let me because I had one from last year. So when i logged in I couldnt even fill out the basic information because it was already filled out. So I went to bed.

I have very clear ideas what I want to write all my essays on, except maybe the issue essay. We will see though. :-)

Panic, never underestimate the book list.

And while I feel you about the random musing, for some reason with telluride essays it comes so much easier for me than school essays. I am honestly the slowest writer in the world. Haley (32flavors) can attest to that, lol.

lobster that is because TASP essays are sprinkles on the bland monotomy that is essays in general.
: )

Essay progress:

-Booklist: started
-Everything else: nothing

I gave the recommendation to my teacher, though, and I gave my counselor the info to send in my transcript. So now all I have to do is buckle down and write.

I know what I'm doing for my literary analysis, I have a vague idea about my issue one, and I really don't have a clue for the conflict one. We'll see.

Oh yeah, my rankings are pretty much fully formed in my mind. As of right now, it's looking like this:

1-Cornell II
2-University of Texas
3-University of Michigan
4-Cornell I

But that could very well change, and I honestly don't care as much which one I get into as much as I want to get in to TASP in general.

I calm myself by knowing I have a month left to write everything.

Word Panic! I liked that, I will keep that one for the books.

Disney, that is good!
***WORD OF ADVICE: Ask for your rec now, before break! Although whatever teacher you ask will undoubtedly love you; automatically they give college recs priority, so give them notice over the break, they will appreciate it.

I am torn between Cornell I and II. The more I look at 1, the more artsy it seems so Idk. The professors are really good on that one though. Oh well, maybe I will have them both tie as my first choice.

Actually, I'm quite certain I came up with the Real World analogy.

Ugh, my essays are pathetic. The whole "Write about a subject or event that is important to you" prompt has gotten kind of old. I might be done by the end of the week, but I won't submit my app yet because I'm reading some more books. I'm not really pumped as most of you are for TASP, so I wouldn't really be devastated if I didn't make it, but it would be nice ;).
