Temple chances

Senior year is coming up, and I’m going in with a 3.3 GPA and a 1400 on the SAT. My junior year was my best year, and the only reason my GPA is so low is because my sophomore year was really, really bad. All my courses I’ve taken these past few years were honors, with two APs. This upcoming senior year, I’m taking a few honors courses with AP Bio and AP Stat. I want to apply to Temple, so should I apply EA or wait for RD?

Apply EA, but are you an athlete or do you live in PA, or have any “hooks”?

@liveforbooks yes I’m from PA, I go to a high school near Philadelphia. I’m also Indian, will that make any difference?

I think living in PA makes a difference. Almost all of my friends with your stats (we live in PA) have gotten in and received generous aid from Temple, although I believe the higher your sat score the more aid you might recieve. Most of them are Indian (South Asian) too so I don’t think that will “hurt” your chance either. I say just make sure you take “real” classes your senior year and do well in them and you stand a pretty decent shot at getting in.
