Hey guys, I recently applied to Temple U as a transfer student. Why so late? Because UMD turned me down and I found out Temple U pushed the dead line for transfer applications from June 1st to July 16th. I sent my application in on time but there was a hold up at my previous college; they just mailed my transcript to temple on July 26th. I know that Temple does not look at your application until they have all your materials. Is it too late to be guaranteed a seat? Also I have a 2.9 GPA, I earned one D and it bought my GPA down. I heard that Temple U average GPA for transfer students is a 3.10, do I have a chance of getting in with a 2.9 GPA? And another thing, I applied to Temple last year as a freshman but I didn't get in, because there wasn't enough space, which sucks because I had a 3.9 GPA and I earned a 1350 on the SATs. I was told to apply as a transfer student this year and I did. Will that fact help me out?

Did you initially apply to only one school (University of Maryland) for a transfer? Maybe you will get in, but you applied quite late.

I think you may have a chance at getting in, but you may want to think of a backup plan just to be safe. Your school mailing out transcripts late should have no effect on the decision due to you submitting your application on time.
The fact that they told you to apply as a transfer doesn’t necessarily help you out, because they probably thought you would keep the trend going as far as grades went and you didn’t. But if it makes you feel better, I saw a graph of the gpa’s and sat scores of temple’s accepted students and there were quite a few people who got in with under a 2.5. So again, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Good luckkk.

Can someone give me thoughts on getting to temple? 2.69 undergrad gpa. 3.98 high school gpa. 1280 sat on the two. Letter of recommendations.
