Does anyone know or have already heard about the acting concentration? We have no idea when or how notification will be.
Thanks!

I’m pretty sure Temple has rolling admissions except in MT, which is auditioned.

So if my D auditioned Feb 8, but hasn’t heard anything yet…
Just thought we would hear by now. She auditioned MT too, but didn’t get in, received a letter this week. They never said at the Q & A how notifications for the acting would go out-mail,email,etc.

February 8th is pretty recent. Also, unless things have changed recently, the acting program is not auditioned at Temple but they do hold scholarship auditions. (Did it specifically change this year?) When my daughter applied two years ago she sent in an application very early (October, I think) and was accepted quickly into the acting program but we were told specifically that this happens when you apply early in the season because admissions is less swamped. I would not worry yet, as it’s only been a month.

It might make sense for your daughter to email to ask when students who auditioned would hear if they were admitted into the Acting Concentration. It appears that even if not there are 5 or 6 more opportunities for a student to do so once they are at Temple and already in the acting class sequence.

Thanks everyone! We have sent an email, waiting to hear, just thought in the meantime I’d inquire for those that have heard how they were notified & what the timeframe was after the audition.

So is Temple’s acting program now an auditioned program? That would be a game-changer for some.

Yes, it is. My D was there to audition for the MT program & after she finished that the professor asked if she could stay & audition for the acting concentration! We were thrilled w/the personal invitation, don’t know if it means anything, but we are hoping. She didn’t get into the MT concentration, but we are still waiting to hear on the acting & hoping that it works out!

Temple usually sends their acceptances for the auditioned programs by email after the last audition (although a few go out before). The last audition is tomorrow, Sun. March 9th. So if you haven’t heard from them yet, it is still a possibility:) And yes, students are accepted into the theater major without audition, but have to audition to get into the mt and acting concentrations. This is the first year I’ve seen the website post acting auditions for incoming freshman. I believe they can still audition after the first or second year for the concentrations. Good luck!

We are here right now. We were told that acceptances should all be out by the end of March.

They said they’re looking for a freshmen class of around 18 MT.

@sydism break a leg!

When we visited Temple last spring, they said you could re-audition for MT once a student there. However, you would only be allowed to audition twice. We personally met a boy who left the dance major after his sophomore year and became an MT.

@sydism: D received acceptance in MT concentration in Feb. for Temple…how do you like it there?

@rbgirl, my D auditioned and was also accepted to the MT concentration but declined and has accepted elsewhere. Sorry.
