I've been accepted to both, Tepper and Carroll at Boston College. My major is Finance. I'm having an extremely tough time trying to find any advantages one has over the other. Rank wise, the business schools are in the same area, but CMU is a higher nationally ranked university then BC. I want more though then just rankings to base my decision on. Besides location, school size, and the rest of the other actual college details, I want to know academically what advantages Tepper has over Carroll. i.e. Better internships, Alumni network, etc. Thanks for any help

I don’t know if this is an actual advantage, but you won’t be competing for internships with Harvard, MIT, and even BU (assuming you want to intern in the city your school is located in). In Pittsburgh, CMU is the **** an everyone knows it.

bceagle2015 - would you mind posting the GPA/SAT scores you had - and any ec’s if you think that helped.
My S first choice is CMU for Finance (he’ll be applying in the fall) and I’m wondering the stats needed.

3.9 GPA W/3.65 UW
620 CR 690 M 650 W
8 AP’s
Two SAT 2’s at 650 n 700

My scores aren’t good enough for the rest of CMU prob, like the computer school, but I guess their alright for Tepper. I also had a lot of extracurriculars (3 internships, presidency in 2 clubs, 400+ hrs comm. service), so I they prob helped me out.

Thanks for replying, your info is very encouraging to hear.
