Tepper vs. Stern vs. Dyson (All Undergraduate)

Which undergraduate school would be better for studying finance and getting into investment banking on wall street? In terms of job placement opportunities, connections and pay?

oh and also, which is the best MBA feeder school?

Dyson AEM, but it is much harder to get in there than the rest of Cornell

http://poetsandquants.com/2011/08/15/top-feeder-colleges-to-harvard-business-school/

Apollo11 what would be the advantages of Dyson AEM over Stern and Tepper?

Jman1295 this is only to harvard business school. Though this is good information, I would be up to go to any of the top MBA schools

Follow the links at the bottom of the article, I believe they did it for a few other schools including Wharton, as well as feeder companies.

I heard after finishing undergraduate college, I will need 3-5 years of work experience before I could be able to apply to these schools. Clearly, I will need to find a good job. Of those three schools, which would give me the best shot at places such as goldman sachs, jpmorgan, citi, morgan stanley etc…?

Dyson/AEM and Stern but Tepper is no slouch either.

Thanks people.

But can anyone answer post number 7? And also, what makes tepper worse than stern and dyson?

also, why is tepper not listed as a feeder school to harvard wharton chicago stanford and columbia MBA graduate schools?

bump10char

I’m kind of biased towards CMU and Tepper since I got in but if you are planning on anything CIS or tech related in Business, it’s in the Top 2 I believe.

Darthpwner what about for finance and ibanking?

is tepper good for that field of business like at all?

Sorry I’m not too sure about finance and ibanking but I would assume that Tepper’s program is well respected and solid overall.

Christina,

Considering all the things you mentioned, Stern is the best option on your list. It is has a top ranked finance program, closer to Wall Street, and has a lot of alumni working in IB, Sales and Trading, etc.

Dyson graduates have no more issues breaking than Stern grads.

Definitely Stern.

 1. Stern definitely has the best program in Finance. The US News ranks it as #2 in undergraduate finance.
 2. Stern is a banking-heavy school. Most kids want to go to banking. That kind of environment will push you towards that field, plus you will get better connections.
 3. Its right in the middle of the city. Not only you get a lot of networking opportunities with professionals, you can have many more job experiences before you recruit for ibanking.
