I left out the EMPL ID when I filled in the request because I thought I didn't have one, until I found that it was just in the package which NU sent to me. I'm a F1 student and NU has sent me email telling me my I20 has been issued without pointing out the problem. But they haven't mailed it out and it has been weeks since they finishing that issuing process. Will there be any problems? feeling upset now. plus, NU doesn't reply my email recently. what should I do? sending the request again or waiting for the I20 to see what's gonna happen.

just feel I'm an idiot right now... beg for help

You should contact the International Student Office, not the admission office. If I am not mistaken, I-20 is issued by the school, not immigration office. I’d think it doesn’t matter. I don’t even know what empl id stands for. Is that “Employer ID”, aka, NU’s ID? If that’s the case and if NU is the one that issues it, then you should be fine.

yeah, I did contact the International Office, but, unfortunately, they keep ignoring me because of “the high volume of request”(quoted from their reply). empl id is the same as student id. I sadly found that they had changed the request form into another version in which there are parentheses after the empl id telling it is just the same as student id after I have already sumbitted my request. don’t know why is that since I did when and what exactly they told me to… =[

Afterall, thank you Sam. feeling better. guess the long waiting after ED admission has drive me crazy a little bit. hope I can receive the form in May, or it would really be a problem for me…

anyone knows when they sent most forms out in the past? I will be out of town in July. I hope everything related to visa can be handled before the end of June… finger crossed

I don’t recall student ID # being printed on my I-20. Nobody asked for student ID at the US customs anyway. You show your I-20 and your passport with F-1 Visa instead.
