Terrible Senior Year Grades

my grades, before 12th grade, were pretty good. I was in the top 6% of a class of 1340. I had good ECs & good essays. SAT & SAT IIs were pretty good. however, I got deferred from the College of Engineering. I got the "good" deferral letter(which I don't know if it's actually better), which doesn't require me to send in my 7th semester grades. My grades this year have been TERRIBLE, because I'm taking the hardest classes possible, along with dealing with personal issues. I have 5 classes in my schedule, and my grades are 4 B-s ( low 80s) & 1 C, borderline failing. I have never done this poorly in my life,& I do not want to send these grades in. What should I do, if I still want to have a shot at getting in? UM has been my dream school for several years.

oh, also forgot to mention; all my classes this year are AP

Sounds like you got the letter that doesn’t require you to send more grades in, but you still need to put your nose to the grindstone and get it done, because if accepted you will need to send in your final transcript. Can you tweak your schedule now so it’s not so difficult? All APs is ambitious and clearly it’s not working for you.

Yea definitely don’t send those grades in and hope for the best.
