My friend has a 26 on the ACT, a 3.6 uw gpa, 6 AP’s total, and pretty good e.c.'s. She’s applying to denison, which has a 50% acceptance rate and a 27-31 25th to 75th act range. test optional: yeay or nay?
I’d say don’t submit them. My daughter is in a similar situation and chose not to include her test scores. Denison must give merit even if scores aren’t submitted because numbers I’ve seen indicate over 90 percent receive merit and about 60 percent submit test scores (of accepted students). I think they will pay particular attention to course rigor so if your friend has a 3.6 with the most rigorous courses available (6 APs sounds good) she should be a good candidate for Densison.
Don’t submit the 26 ACT
Common sense says that if your scores are < 25th percentile for the school average, then it won’t help your case to submit them. Since Denison is test optional your friend has the advantage of not submitting.
