Will universities see the testing information I fill out in the common application or will they only see what I send via official score report? I’m trying to get a firm understanding of how to fill out my common application testing information most advantageously and honestly. Thank you for the help!
Bump
You don’t need to fill out the testing info on Common App. It’s optional. You do, however, need to send official test score reports since that’s what colleges want to see anyway.
@tiggyB62 Thank you! And am I allowed to fill out some, but not all, of my test scores??
Yes, but why? Either fill them out or not IMHO. Schools do not use self-reported test scores in admissions. They only will take the official results sent directly from the testing agency.
By the way, If the schools you are applying to are “score choice”, then for SAT you can pick which test/score you want to send. If school is not “score choice”, then you must send all your results from all dates taken. Didn’t know if you knew that or not, so you best check your school’s admission website to verify.
For AP scores, these are not used to make admissions decisions, rather, they are used after you are admitted for course placement or credit purposes. There is no harm in self-reporting AP scores, but generally to save money, you send them to the college you are admitted to in the summer before you arrive.
@TiggyB62 Thank you sosososososo much! You’ve answered everything I need to know! You’ve been an immense help!
