TEST your email

So the status page says "Test your email by sending a message to college@fas.harvard.edu with "TEST" in the subject line. You will receive an automated response."

And I did that, last night and about three times today, using TEST, "TEST", and TEST with TEST in the body too.

No response.

I have normal yahoo mail.

Am I doomed to waiting for the envelope?

...and to reply to my own post...

I just realized -- I previously received acknowledgement of my fee payment from the same harvard address. So maybe their automated response just takes a long time?

I think it has to be a week day...and it does take a little while.

Yeah, some guy probably goes through and replies to every one. So you may not get a response the same day; especially over the weekend.

It could also be Harvard's system. Last year, around EA time, the test didn't work until hours before decisions were released. I would assume if you have gmail or any school email it should be fine. If you are worried, you could ask your school's computer services to add college@fas.harvard.edu to the non-junk list.

You're right about the weekend thing-- I just got a response today, Monday. :)
