Hi, I’m currently a junior in Texas and I want to know about my chances for Tamu admission.
My GPA is 4.0/4.0 and rank in 5/621. I’m taking all ap classes and involved in varsity soccer, national honor society, leadership academy (it’s a leadership organization in my school district), and etc. I also have more than 200 community service hours. BUT I have a problem with my SAT. Well, I didn’t take it yet (planning to take in on June 6 for this year and on October during senior year), but I’m just not good at taking SAT at all. My practice test score is pretty terrible, and I don’t have enough time to study because of the extra activities… I simply don’t feel confidence…
My question is that “Will SAT score affect me greatly for the admission to Tamu engineering school?”
Can I get accepted to Engineering school with top 10% admit?
And what is rolling admission?
Do you think I will get accepted if I apply early?
what is your definition of horrible? And don’t count on getting a bad sat score because if you do, then you actually will. Rolling admission is where if on person applies december 1st and one person applies december 31st, the person who applied december 1st will (most likely) have their application viewed first and have a decision made sooner. So basically the sooner you send it in the sooner you find out if you got in or not, plus the earlier you apply the better chance you have for financial aid. And generally early applicants have a higher admit rate than regular applicants. Im not sure if you could get into the engineering school under the 10% rule but I see no reason why not, and logic says yes, but I am in no way sure on the official rules for that. Your gpa is good, your rank is awesome and it sounds like you have some solid ec’s so I think you have a great shot, but don’t discount yourself. The average sat for A&M is 1220 (M + CR) so that means as long as you get low 600’s on math and reading you should be set, and even being below the average with high 500’s would be ok as long as you pick it up with the rest of your application.
