Hey Guys,
I am having a really hard time choosing between Biomedical Sciences at TAMU and Healthcare Studies at UTD. I have heard that the BIMS program is pretty good, however, TAMU isnt as well known for their pre-med track. On the other hand, heathcare studies is a fairly new program so I havent heard much about it, but I know that UTD has a reputable pre-med track. Based on academics alone, is one better than the other?
Cheers!
TAMU isn’t well known for their pre-med track? Where on earth did you hear that? I know lots and lots and lots of MDs who did their undergrad at TAMU.
UTD is making huge strides and is a solid school. But TAMU is going to have the leg up on name recognition and ranking throughout the state for sure and probably more well recognized across the country.
Have you visited either school?
I mean like its known more as an Engineering school rather than a pre-med school. I’ve visited UTD and I’ll be visiting TAMU next week. I’m a huge sports fan so thats a plus for me.
I would take a&m no question. UTD is more known as a comp sci/ international school these days. They also are still very commuter focused though they have built dorms more recently.
I would probably choose UTDallas and this is why… likely less competition for the A’s in the science classes. TAMU has too many strong engineering/STEM students who’d be competing for the A’s.
