I am currently deciding between UT Austin and UT Dallas to attend undergrad. I got into UT Dallas with the AES scholarship so I will not have to pay tuition which takes off a huge load of money that I can save if I get into medical school. But, UT Austin’s environment and student life seem much more lively than UT Dallas’s. I know that UT is a much bigger school than UTD so the classes will be larger so I feel like I would find that very daunting. I am wanting to follow some sort of pre-med path and am not sure about my major yet. I was wondering if I could get some insight about the following:
Which school is better for a pre-med student? Which one prepares the pre-med student more for the MCAT? What was your experience as a science major at one of those schools?
For someone majoring in something such as biology, chemistry or psychology, how difficult are the classes at each school? Is one school more notorious for having harder classes/professors that aren’t helpful?
Which school is better for a social life or to make new friends?
Which school’s Spanish program is better?
