Last month I found out that I was placed on the waiting list at Texas A&M University, so I signed up for Blinn TEAM as well as the waiting list online. I was also offered CAP admission from UT, and as May 1st draws near I'm finding myself in a conundrum, since right now my mind is between UT and A&M. For the waitlist, I'm not supposed to hear back until late May or later, but I have to make my UT CAP decision by May 1st. A little about me:

-3.3 GPA
-1910 combined SAT score (660 on writing, 660 on reading, 590 on math)
-Rank: 341/921

What are my odds of being accepted on the waitlist? Is it worth waiting until mid-June to see if A&M offered me full admission, or should I go with the CAP program? I have trouble waiting that long, but I don't want to firmly decide on UT and then suddenly find out I got accepted to A&M. Also, if it comes down between Team Blinn and CAP, I'm leaning towards CAP. Advice?

I made it into texas A&M with a 1660 sat score and a gpa of 3.97 so i think you should get in, but may i suggest that i think UT is a better school to attend! I’m stuck in a predicament myself and totally unsure of what to do.:/

I may have read and responded to another one of your posts Jayung. The CAP program and Blinn Team from what I understand are similar programs, but it is weird that you would be wait-listed at A&M with those credentials (your class rank is a bit low) unless you applied really late or something. If you want to go to A&M more, maybe try letting them know that you’re at a stalemate here and see if they can do anything. If you want to do UT more, maybe go ahead and do the UT CAP program (I’ve heard good things about other UT Campuses). I know you have until May 1st or something to decide, so I would suggest thinking it over and looking into what school has the better major/programs you’re interested in.

I’m an out-of-stater applying to A&M this summer, so let me know what you decide.

I’m a little surprised you were waitlisted, but since you are already on the waitlist, it’s a bit unlikely you’ll get off (from what I know). Unless you have some overriding reason to stick with A&M and do their Blinn Team program, you gotta go UT CAP! UT is the better school.
