texas liberal arts

i was wondering what is the lowest gpa and sat for an out of state applicant for Liberal Arts.

the middle 50% on college board seems to be

math
570-690

verbal
540-670

is this accurate?

how about gpa.

so my question basically is how competitive is the admission to liberal arts.

texas is my top choice i feel my stats are kind of low.

any information of any kind will be helpful.

Hey my fellow prospective UT out of state student!
Hey!
I'm an out of state student currently at UT, I'm a freshman.
I applied from Virginia... and to tell you the truth, yes, it is REALLY hard to get in from out of state. BUT guess what, Liberal Arts is one of the less challenging to get into out of all the colleges within the university.
So... to give you an idea and hopefully it helps...

my GPA was 3.86 (see? not that extremely high, while my classmates , Texas HS Graduates were in the top top top of their class)

my score on the new SAT was 1710
(560-Math, 530-Critical Reading, 610-Writting)

Lots of extra curriculars (A PLUS!)

Good letters of rec (one from a UT Alumni who was my teacher)

I'm a minority (maybe that was something but then again, I think they have enoug Hispanics, I'm not of any weird mix!)

3 AP classes, 1 College course, 2 Honor Classes.

AP SCORES? Not so great for the most part. Spanish=5 (without taking the class in HS), Government =3

The rest... let's not even go there!

Texas was my first choice, and it was the first school that responded and the one that I decided to come to, and I absolutely LOVE IT, trust me when I say that!
I completely encourage you to apply, PLEASE do so. We need more OSS!!!!!

... My major is Government, by the way, one of the most popular in CO. Liberal Arts.

But anyway, I suggest you apply AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
When you apply make sure you fill out the housing applicaiton as well.... YES!Without even knowing if you'll get in or not because otherwise they may run short of housing, etc etc. Just apply for both admissions AND housing while you are at it.

The earlier everything the BETTER. Although I turned in my applicaiton the night it was due, I don't advise you do that! =)

Please feel free to ask me any questions about anything at all regarding UT, getting in, etc.
Where exactly are you from?

Good luck in the process to applying to UT and to other schools!

i'm from new jersey

great... some more east coasters!
... well i hope this kind of sort of helped.
feel free to ask anything and i'll try my best to get back with you ASAP!
.. Good luck!
Hook'em Horns!
