Curious if any Texas valedictorians have asked this… So you get free tuition for your first year of state school. Presumably you qualify for significant auto merit, as well as competitive merit that you need for further years of schooling, as well. Have any schools you applied to allowed you to hold on to that first year auto merit and place it towards future tuition or housing?
I have a piggyback question if you get your tuition waiver for the first year…how likely is it to receive tuition-based scholarships in the next 3 years?
You won’t know you are valedictorian till after admitted and merit awards, awarded. I assume you would get those the other 3 years and maybe some colleges would allow you to transfer unused freshman merit to further years or room? I don’t know but as we apply next year that would definitely be a question I would ask admission
