Textbook/review book recommendations..

I will be taking 3 AP's as a sophomore next year.
I'm taking AP Chemistry, AP Physics B and AP World History.

Like the title says, I want to begin studying now-I am working in a lab at a local university, so I have access to many science textbooks.

I have General Principles of Chemistry by Atkins-would this be okay for AP Chem? I don't mind going beyond as long as it covers the material.

I also have Hailliday's (sorry, forgot the spelling) Physics book, but it is calculus based, and I know a little but not enough calculus. Any textbook recommendations?

AP World-I'll just get the review book.

For review books, I had thought that I would get Princeton Review for Chem, World History and Physics B.

Do you guys have any suggestions for textbooks/review books?

Sorry for not searching-I'm going to the store soon!

Thanks in advance!

I used both Barron’s and PR as review books for World. Barron’s is more comprehensive, but it often covers extra material(Barrons is infamous for doing this). PR has less info but it’s very good as a summary. I read Barron’s in January and PR closer to the test. If you have the time, you may want to do this. If not, PR should be enough, but you should practice essays.

Thank you! I might get the Barons version now, and maybe borrow he Princeton Review around April…
Are the essays particularly difficult for World? I know that there are many FRQ’s with Euro…doubt I’ll ever take that one! Mostly at my school, people tend to complain about the huge volumes of material you have to remember.

Does anyone else have more info about chem textbooks…I think I actually have a pretty old version of Atkin’s ‘General Chemistry’. I’m going to ask the university where I’m working at if I can borrow a book from their library, though they may not want to accomodate a high schooler

Thanks again!

Actually, Euro has the same number of essays as World: 3.

Anyway, for world, the essays are not that bad. Every essay has a formulaic rubrik that assigns points, so you can easily write an essay that gets a lot of points. For the DBQ, you don’t even have to know the topic very well, since all the evidence is provided in the documents. Finally, the curve is around 60%=5.
