textbook

so what sites are most of you guys ordering from? And also could we just let them ship the textbooks to our po box?

I'm not sure yet...I just now checked what books I need.
Organic Chemistry by Loudon, $153.75
Gorgias by Plato, translated by Waterfield, $7.95
Phaedras by Plato, translated by Scully, $10.95

I'm fairly confident I can find Plato's books at a local used bookstore. The chem textbook I'm not sure about.

amazon is good

I found a math textbook for around 10 dollars haha

yes you can have them ship to your PO box

Unfortunately, I haven't found out what my FOCUS textbooks are yet, and I'm leaving for pBUILD tomorrow. Thus, I have to succumb to the Duke Bookstore and pay full price for my books for this semester. Oh well

wait.. if i want to buy a textbook.. and have it shipped to the dorm.. what address do i have to give.. it says in the e-mail the mailing address is only for small packages

If it's through the US Postal Service then give your PO Box. You'll get an email from the East Campus Post Office when it comes in. If it's through Fedex or UPS or something like that then give your room address and they'll bring it right to your door.

wait is our po box big enough to fit all the books that we are going to be ordering, especially seeing how chemistry 21L itself already has like 5 books. And also if we choose fed ex or ups do we have to wait until we arrive on campus to have them deliver to our room?

I can't believe how many textbooks I need for Chem 21! Seven books, totaling over 560 dollars when bought used? Craziness... Plus, the bookstore doesn't give out the ISBN numbers, so I can't look them up on Half.com. Luckily, the books for my other courses are small and cheap.

Packages aren't delivered to dorms until after you move in, but classes don't start until Monday, so you have plenty of time to get your stuff delivered.

If it's delivered to your mailbox, they dont' put it in the mailbox, you have to go pick it up when they're open at the desk/ window.

alrighty, thx for all the info

yeah, seahorse, they used to give out ISBN numbers, but I guess they wised up. You can still look them up though

so u guys think it's safe enough to order them (from amazon or half.com) after 24th???
(or should i order them on like 22nd or 23rd??)

you can get expedited shipping for some text books

Anyone know which edition of Economics Principles and Policy we need for Econ 1D: Econ Principles? 9th edition or 10th edition? The site didnt say which one, and Im trying to buy from amazon or half.com
