Thai studies for Thai-American at OU and life in Athens?

Hello-

I graduated from an Ohio high school 3 years ago, finishing a year early. I then accepted an opportunity to work in Thailand and Asia, which was exciting and well-paid but it is time to move on. I now would like to return to the US to go to school because I don’t plan to live in Thailand forever. My interest is in Thai language and literature as well as other Asian languages. I speak native household Thai now but not more academic Thai.

I see that OU has a Thai language program, which is rare. Any opinions or insights about it?

Also, how is Athens for social scene? I’m mixed Asian-White, enjoy literature, movies, and fun with friends.

@PrincessBooks - I can’t respond to having insights on OU’s Thai language program, but I can report that my son really enjoyed Athens. I asked him several times if he thought that this little town in the middle of nowhere felt confining in any way. But he said he didn’t feel that at all. OU is a large school with such a diversity of people and so many activities to do.
