Thank You

Actually don’t do that.

You and my d are kindred spirits and I’ve shared her story with you. We are both positive that something good will happen for you.

sending good karma to you, Stargirl.
It’s not about the destination but about the journey, you are already doing superb.

When you grow up and look back these days, you will appreciate this experience and times of agony.

Looking forward to hearing good news from you soon.

@stargirl3 You are such a great inspiration! I’m always going to root for you :)

My son and I discuss you in our house as if you were one of his group of friends who applied to BS this year… So far we received good news today regarding FA that we needed as well as good new for a close friend… He said now if stargirl gets in that would be the icing on the cake… And this admission Season would be even more wonderful,

Hats off to you, Stargirl, for bringing new meaning to the word “grace.” I suspect you also have a legion of fans who are more lurkers than posters. I have been rooting for you all along, and know that you have a wonderful future ahead of you, whether or not it includes boarding school. Fingers still crossed for this admission cycle, though!

Here’s what your story and this thread has me muddled-ly mulling.

High school, boarding school, college, they’re all stepping stones, right? Supports meant to help one “go get 'em” when launched fresh-faced into the world.

'cept I think in your case you already know how to go get 'em.

Look at the band of friends and supporters who’ve flocked to you on this board - and this is about as clunky a communications medium as it gets.

That takes a certain something. A strong, clear voice, intelligence, pluck… charisma.

That you’ve got all that and are only 13 says something, to me anyway.

You’ll be an asset to any school and you’ll have your choice at the end of the day I suspect. But whatever stepping stones end up dotting your path, I have a feeling that you have the talent to get cracking on whatever it is you want to do now… and may well achieve whatever it is you aspire to faster than the rest of us plodders.

So watch out world…and that includes you, you boarding school and college AOs, cause here you comes!

Been a lurker since Fall of 2011 when my D applied to a top tier Boston day school(now 2X on the waitlist for both 7th and now 9th grade). Have never posted until now…@stargirl, I followed your story and was sick to my stomach on decision day, for both my own daughter and you. Yes, your grace has been an inspiration. I’ve almost felt like calling some of your schools myself!! I promise, I won’t. Keep it positive and the world, with or without boarding school, is yours. You have a legion of unnamed, unspoken parents and students behind you. I will be looking for fantastic news for my own daughter, and you, soon:)

@Bostonmom8 Welcome to CC, thank you (!), and good luck to your daughter!

@stargirl3, we’re always going to be standing behind you.
ALWAYS.

I joined CC this January, and let me assure you, I’ve supported you from the day I became a member. (Thank you for posting the “Bad Rejection Letters” thread, by the way– it has caused me to spend even * more * time on CC, to my mother’s dismay; I’ve also really enjoyed your contributions to the “Hogwarts” thread.) So thank you for being such an avid CC contributor– having a life is overrated anyway.

Remember, (contradicting what Julius Caesar said) the fault * is * in our stars. (Yes, I stole that from John Green.) Don’t let being-on-a-waitlist dampen the star that you are– you don’t need the approval of a bunch of admissions officers to determine your worth. I know you will have a bright future whether you attend boarding school or not. (Okay, yeah, I’ll stop bombarding you with “star” puns)

Never give up. As @bostonmom8 said earlier, “you have a legion of unnamed (ahem, * untamed*) unspoken parents and students behind you”. Jut call on the CC army!

Aww wow good luck with all of your goals! As I’ve stated many times before, I know the feeling of rejections and this makes me want to root for you even more! You deserve the great experience that boarding school offers and I hope that the future brings you some great news. I’m sure this time next year you’ll either be finishing up your freshman year at an incredible school or would have just decided where to go out of your countless full rides  Either way, I’m rooting for you, because I see my 8th grade self in you!
Woohoo!

Adding on to my previous comment^^
You’re going to be the brightest star in the night sky– I’m Sirius.

(HARRY POTTER REFERENCE! haha, I know I’m cheesy.)

This is why I love CC :)

Stargirl - you are the epitome of grace. I have this idea that the universe has something bigger in store for you than boarding school.

Hey @stargirl,
I just came back on CC for the first time in months just to see what was up on here.
Honestly, I have to thank you so much. I remember that…interesting…thread last year; staying up way too late chatting about everything from Wellesley college to the different colors/fonts you can use on CC.

Boarding school is not the most important thing in the world. When it comes down to it, I would much rather be a kind, generous girl (you  ), than someone who slaves away at boarding school missing her parents and friends. You will be extremely successful without boarding school. When you’re famous and some-CEO or something snazzy like that, Groton will be hitting themselves about not accepting you!

I miss our threads, and I am completely sure you will grow into an even brighter star!!
Thank you.

Hey stargirl-just checking in. Hope all is well.

I’m just hanging in here… :-S

It’ll be all right. I’m still got my fingers crossed for you. :)

No, @stargirl3. Thank * you*.

and adding on to @mathman1201, I believe Bob Marley is appropriate for this occasion: *eveeery little thing’s gonna be alriiiight *
