Essays:
I am planning on writing about overcoming adversity and its effects on my character. I have privately discussed this essay with my AP English teacher and she really likes it. My fingers are crossed.

Recommendations:
Great. From teachers and counselor that I am very close with.

However, I was wondering if it would be better to get an academic teacher for a second recommendation instead of my counselor?

Again, thanks.

If your essay is really compelling (as you say it is), your chances are fair… Recommendations should be two opposing subjects, as it adds to your diversity.

Only thing holding you down: Being Asian.

@thetralfamador
Thanks. Do you know how heavy Recs. weigh in for admissions?

@ALL
I realize that aside from Business Information Management 2 (We do Excel, Access, etc.) I don’t have any strong “business” oriented ECs, awards, or classes. How much will this hurt me?
On the contrary, I have been self-researching finance, investment, entrepreneurship, and business for a while, and I can say I am definitely interested in studying it at college. Is there a way to demonstrate this effectively in application essays?

Thanks.

Not that much. thetraflamador is being much too optimistic.

A lot, because your grades and test scores are not that strong either. Penn is going to be a very, very big reach.

@billabong
Thanks for the honest chance

@ALL
Any other recommendations to improving my chances? Any other opinions/chancing?

Thanks.
