Great topic. Hope you get some replies.

You get out from Maryland what you put in.

ditto somebodynew

and, be aware of deadlines and..stuff. no one will be there to tell you, seriously. someone forgot to send in their housing agreement and now must find something off campus. . u totally don't want to be there!!

I think this applies to all colleges.

If you want IB dont come here...

this school isn't that hard. you really do get what you put into it. go join a club, be a leader, have fun. meet people, there are some interesting ones out there. this is a huge research school which means there are opportunities everywhere to help out with that. even for arts majors. i'm an english major and i'm researching with the psychology department. be open-minded.

how much money would you say you would spend in one school year on stuff like food, entertainment etc. Just wondering if i need to get a summer job.

i spent a lot first semester, i spent close to $1000 lol but i cut the restaurant going/clothes buying and i spent about $500 2nd semester, and that was being careful.

Go to class even if it doesn't seem like you need to. It really helps. Then again, there are classes like econ 200 where class is pointless. I went to no classes except for the tests and ended up with an A. But had i gone to class i am sure i wouldn't need to cram the night before.

i went to all my classes of ECON200 (though didn't pay much attention) and got a C. go figure. :P

^^***!! i hope it wasn't hard!!

anyways, guys, these are the classes that I DEFINITELY plan to take starting next year:

calculus I
that foundation Writing class
econ200 I think is the first one

Anyways, I'm definitely going to take those 3 and I kind of want to take 2 more classes, like I want to get one of my science classes out of the way and some other class to take out a requirement, but I don't know. do you think think it would be difficult to do it this way?

nope, not difficult at all. that sounds like your typical freshman schedule.

and econ200 wasn't THAT hard, i just am miserable with econ.

hey what are the easiest science classes to take? I'm thinking I might do astronomy for lab, but I can't think of another one I'd be interested in!!

the general chem is the easiest science class (if you took chem in high school). I wasn't a chem major and I got like the highest grade in the class.

I wouldn't take chem, bio, or physics for just taking acore science class. Astro w/ the lab is great. I mean i find astronomy interesting but it is an easy class. I got a B though. Really, really, really made me mad. People I helped got As. Something like 44% of the class gets an A, i think.

lol wait then how did get a B?

just study.

people party at the time.

curves are sexy.

im in a frat, and i am an engineering major, i still got a 3.49. go figure im asian :)

people party all* the time
