For those of you wondering about "Admitted Student Days" this spring, 7 dates have just been announced. We are calling this event The 2016 Experience.

Please use the link below to find the registration page.
enrollment.rochester.edu/2016exp

You will need to log in to your MyRoc account before your register and build your own day.

To be specific, there are many EN applicants nervously waiting on this piece of mail that supposedly was the only way to find out if a student was admitted or denied or waitlisted, my daughter included. Is this actually how they will find out - whether or not they can sign up for admitted student day? Or is the signup just for ED I and ED II students at this point and EN later? Thank you.

I just discovered that you cannot register until you have received your decision letter. The website is “locked” until your decision letter has been mailed. I do not understand the coding or timeline behind this. If you receive an admit letter, your MyRoc account will then permit you to register on that site. The admit letter contains more information on the 2016 Experience and registration.

eyemamom - yes, open classes will be available (not on the Saturday event). Each day is different, so when you arrive on campus you will receive a list of Open Classes to choose from.

I prematurely posted the link as an FYI for those curious about Rochester’s “admitted student dates”. The ability to access the website shouldn’t in any way indicate your admission status at this point.

I did not mean for my transparency to turn into applicant anxiety. Sorry about that!

if the letter has been mailed,
but not received yet,
but one can login to myroc and then go to the 2016exp page above and see the options,
then that means…
something?

I just saw your last reply and realize that you probably won’t comment further on what things seen on the website might mean. I’m sorry if all the prospectives might jump on you. I’ll sit tight and wait for the mail.

once I hit submit at the very very end, it tells me that I “cannot register until I receive my letter” or something like that.

Another kid in my town received a letter already, so perhaps there is info on the letter that you have to input somewhere to signify that you have received said letter.

Clarification; there is no info on the letter he received saying to register for an admitted students day.

i’m getting him to register now, although I must say that the likelihood of this being any indication seems awfully slim being that nobody has posted on this thread affirming that hitting register WORKS.

It seems that the admit rate x2 is the CC admit rate, and i’m seeing 0% with this method.

heres an update to my fellow worryworts: What Tsocash was trying to say is true. My friend Sam got his letter in the mail today (Maryland), yet cannot currently register. Like all of us, upon hitting “register” it says he has not yet been admitted.

Tyler, if you register for a bunch of events on the day but instead decide to go to an open class instead of the program is that a problem? Like to just skip out on an event in place of something else?

Just received official UR mailing about the 2016 experience today. I also got a UR gold card that says i’m pre-approved for a travel discount to UR. Does anyone know how much the travel discount would be? If I know roughly what my costs will be before pitching this to my parents, they’ll be more likely to let me sign up and go visit.

Here’s what it said about the gold card on UR Class of 2016’s facebook page:

The card should have directions, (or the letter that came with it) that describes who you should contact for your discount. It’s actually a reimbursement of your travel expense, not really a discount per say. I believe it’s a case by case basis but basically can cover up to 50% of costs or up to $350, but again it all depends on each person. And yes, it can cover plane tickets, bus fare, train fare, whatever mode of transportation you choose.

What exactly is the experience? Is it like a day where you get to see the campus and everything? Do they fly in people for free? Because I live in Cali!!!
