Cornell is not the "Easy Ivy" if anything it's the hardest of all!

It's the easy-to-get-into Ivy, though. My school has like 30 kids there from the past three years.

it doesn't matter what I think- this is a pretty prominent stereotype at my school.

Yup... for all it's worth, Cornell does have the highest acceptance rate of the Ivies! It's in the mid 20s while Yale had a rate of 8.6% admits this year!!

Cornell's should be amended to the easiest-to-get-into-but-hardest-to-graduate-from Ivy. Whew, quite a mouthful. :p

Ha! That's indeed a mouthful :D but it's very true from what I've heard and read.

A common chant against them at football & hockey games: "One in four, maybe more."

How old is that traditional chant anyway?

"One in four, maybe more."

what does that mean?

^I was wondering the exact same thing

It's a reference to how Yale is the "gay" Ivy. Supposedly, there is a chant that is applied to Yale that goes:

"One in four, maybe more;
One in three, maybe me;
One in two, maybe you."

I guess Yale has had a lot of gay undergraduates!

But what I want to know is HOW old this tradition is, and under WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES it came about. Does anyone care to explain? Thanks.....

I'm not entirely sure, but I get the sense it's had that reputation for the last 20-30 years.

Meanwhile... in another chat room:
