I have explored this forum forever and still have not came to a conclusion on what is the the very best text and review books for Phsics B and C and statistics. I have heard barron is good, but i have also heard that pr is good. I have heard that resnic and halliday are good for text, but i have also heard that seraway is good. I need to score a five on both test, so whats the best books for both subject to achieve that? thank you in advanced.

For statistics text, our class is going to use The Practice of Statistics(2nd edition) by Daniel S. Yates. I haven't taken the class yet, but so far the text seems pretty good. I would reccomend you sign up for a teacher account on the apcentral website. They have textbook reccomendations for every class.

thank you. I would apperciate other input

C - H. and Resnick

or University Physics

I had a good experience with Princeton review for AP Phys B (especially for the FRQ part).

I self studied AP Physics C Mechanics using Resnick and Halliday, as well
as Mosca and Tipler for texts and used Barrons and PR, Kaplans as exam
specific preps.

I was interested in understanding and having fun with the physics. Mosca
and Tipler was perfect for that and is the primary text used by the
Stanford University EPGY P051 course as well (which includes some heart stopping exam questions).

But all the aforementioned texts are way overkill if all you want to do
is do the APs well. All you need is Barrons and about 4 weeks prep time
(~12 hrs per week); Additionally download the free responses from the
CB site along with their solutions and grade yourself.

I found the Kaplan and PR nice for the Simple Harmonic Motion section
but relatively less valuable than barrons. Your Calculus should be beyond
the Calc A (as in AB) part to do the force, work, energy problems.

....Ohh and if you have the time the MIT Open Courseware is just too
good :) to miss. Download some of their quizzes and check yourself against
their solutions. You need to approach these quizzes as icing rather than
your core prep though.

Is resnick and Halliday also good for AP Physics B? What are some good review books for Physics B and C?

.....................

How about for the Physics C review book? I am gonna take both C exams. If I want the PR book should I buy the 2006-2007 version which has all three Physics tests or the new 2007-2008 version which comes out in February? Please Help

Physics by Giancoli is the best for AP Physics B.

Just use the C book for B. HR does have sections on waves, thermo, etc. but only the extended version has modern physics. I don't think there is too much calculus involved in those sections.
