<p>There are only 6 IMO winners and about 30 MOPpers and not all of them are 12 graders. MIT admits more than 1000 students each year. So, if you have some AIME scores it will help.</p>

<p>I think someone doesn't need AIME or USAMO to qualify for the top, albeit a VERY small chance.</p>
<p>I had USAMO but was deferred from MIT. So its definitely not a guarantee.</p>
<p>Nothing is a guarantee. But it always helps when you can show some achievement.</p>

<p>The B cutoffs are 97.5 for the 12 and a 120 for the 10.</p>

since im considered in the 10th grade and under category, I probalby made USAMO (unless the cutoff is 9 which i highly doubt)
i dont want to sound arrogant but its that im really happy because i did a lot of math the past year and i really wanted to make USAMO</p>

AIME floor 10th grade/below: 7 with index of 196-prediction</p>
<p>This is good because Ive never done a USAMO problem from the last 10 years so Ill just sit there for 9 hours and stare at my paper-get to miss two days of school atleast =P</p>
<p>But unfortunently, the qualification for USAMO alone (since it went from 250 people to 500 people) is not as importnat to colleges (since its 500+ people, probalby 80+ in my grade now), so the USAMO score counts alot...Ill get lucky if I can get a 1/42</p>
