Ha, I hear that ;P

Hi there,

Just so you know, the CB takes the test results every year and calculates a perfect bell curve on the results. They make the scoring guide for the essays based on the pool of about 1000 essays. So basically, if everyone stinks at a question, it is easier to get a good score. You are only “competing” against other ppl taking the test, not the reader’s “right” answer.

Multiple choice: if you can narrow it down to two, you can guess. This is different from the SAT in that BOTH answers may be CORRECT, but one is the BEST answer. If you are doing practice tests and get down to the two correct ones, you are on the right track.

I have been teaching AP for many years and have been an AP reader. :)

good luck!

@gbrasg: That is good info. It is always good to hear from a reader. BTW, that is exactly like the SAT Reasoning test. I have tutored SAT Reasoning for 14 years - on the Critical Reading portion, there are many questions that have two correct answers and the test taker must choose the **better **of the two. Good luck to everyone.

It was very descriptive. It described a variety of social classes. It mentioned a black man smiling and him frightening the children who were playing games and teenage girls and I think a race and people in a car. The same test also has another passage about how bad the media is I think. One of the passages also mentions the great gatsby…
THANK YOU

I got a 52 on the Collegeboard official practice test on my first try… wt*?

yay i’m so glad there’s a thread like this… Would one of you guys give your opinions about my essays?

^^^ There… i reposted it like two times, and no one commented. I hope people will comment on it this time. I’m glad to hear feedback :)

After practicing multiple choices a few times, I feel I SLIGHTLY improved… i finished each passage in 12 min tops… It sucks though, because most of the times i almost always pick the second best choice, it gets frustrating.

But yes, i’m glad there’s a thread like this, so I can ask for help :D

Help meee!!

I need help getting through all of the passages and questions in time… while getting the answers correct. It’s difficult for me. I keep scoring 27s and 28s on practice MC tests, but I really would like to get 35s or maybe even a 40 (I’m aiming for a 4 or 5. My essays are pretty good. It’s just the dang multiple choice).
So what are some tips to improve time management and accuracy??
