The AP exam freak out thread:oARG!!!

OMG the AP exams are less than 3 weeks away and I'm a sophomore taking 4 AP's and I'm freaking out!!!!! GAA!!!! My chem, physics, and US History classes arent even close to finishing teaching all of the material and I feel so overwhelmed with the amount of junk I still have to learn/review. I've been studying 5/6 hours a night, but I can't seem to accomplish/remember that much, and I never know whether to study the material or do more problems or just how to study in general. And I can't really cram in any more study time since I have an international piano comp to go to blah!1!!

Does anyone have good study tips that are really efficient and will help me remember more stuff? And are there other pple as freaked and stressed out by the AP exams as I am or am I just stupid????!!!!!!

i'm not freaked out, but I only have a US test (though I do have 3 SAT subject tests the next day). 5-6 hours a day is a lot, and youre gonna be tired out. Figure out a good amount of time for each subject a night, maybe an hour, and go with that.

How do you study though? do you just do a bunch of practice problems or do you reread textbooks and practice books?

personally, for US, I'm going to finish up my text book(I haven't read much to date), read ahead of our class lessons-we're on WWII mobilization-and then go back and hit some points that I'm shaky on. I don't remember much of the colonial stuff so I'll make sure to go over most of that. I have a bunch of websites that I'm going to use that have reviews, notes, quizzes, essays and other stuff that should help me out. PM and I can send you the links. Also, if my PR would ever get here, I'll start reading the topics in there. Also, my teachers holds review sessions for about an hour on Saturday's so I go there and we do practice tests, just MC. That allows me time at home to concentrate on just reviewing and I wont have to take many tests on my own.

I'm trying to read through my text (Newman and Schmalbach), and I'm only on chapter 9...Sectionalism...Our teacher has covered many parts of the twentieth century in class, but I'm still worried...I need to read more over the next few days...I know I'm going to fail Bio. and Spanish. I have no hope; I think I can get a 4 on the Lang. & Comp. test, and I'd like at least a 4 on this one, too.

physics is making me tear a little everytime I see newton's laws

I'm worried about ap euro- how much do you really need to memorize to get a 5 on the test????

yeah im scared too for my bio and world history tests. especially those essays.... eep

get a PR book for all your subjects and youll be fine.

I'm only taking one, but I've barely cracked open my book. I should be more worried, but I'm not, and I'm not sure why. :p

I got 2 coming up... AP Calc- I havent studied in so long that im sure this is a lost cause.. and AP Bio- considering im a microbio major i think i should try to pull a 4 on this

I have six exams:

Calc AB - doing fine in the class, so I'll just review my trig for a day and I'll be set
Chem - just need to do some last-minute reviewing the day before the exam
Lang - you can't really study for it, so I'll just skim through a couple books the weekend before the exam
HumGeo - self studying... haven't started... screwed!
Psych - self studying... haven't started... screwed!
Stats - self studying... haven't started... screwed!

I'm going to have to dedicate about a week to each of my AP's. This is so bad for my health.

I'm extremely scared. lol. Two and a half weeks left until the calc test, and I only started prepping today. And then add the fact that I have two more AP tests (USH + Chem), raise my grade in two of my other classes (which by the way only give grades for tests), and keep up with EC's. Then there's the 3-day KEY Club convention (anyone here going?) next weekend. Did I mention how I need to get 5's in everything?

Ahh, it feels good to rant. :]

3-day Key Club convention in San Jose @ the McEnery Convention Center? =) I'm not going though. You'll have a blast. It's a nice place. I was there two years in a row for the regional science fair.

i have 11 exams.... counting IB/AP and SAT IIs.. granted they overlap, but i still want this whole AP craze to end sooo bad...

we are a little bit more than halfway done in psychology too, so i am reallyyy freaking out.

i eagerly await May 11 - the day i'll be done w/ all my ap's

do you guys suggest flashcards?or is it better to just keep rereading the material? i started making some but they took so long (esp for US i dunno) so i dunno if its worth it....

haha i took an APUSH practice MC got 48/80.....i guess thats what happens when you have a blah memory...

For social sciences and more memorzing aps (biology especially) flashcards can be useful. I'm not a flashcard person, but I'm going to use them to review some government concepts

Any tips for AP Lit?

I think there's no better for ap lit than practicing MC. And reviewing literary terms like diction, syntax, etc so that you're very, very comfortable writing about them in the essays.
