The AP US Government and Politics Thread

does size work?

also…i know we are not supposed to discuss mc…but how come i remember last year on cc…there were direct questions about the tests??..

I used committees and how since only a small portion of members go into these committees they can influence legislation because of their specialization. I dunno if they will accept that. meh

Dammit, I should have used Rules Committee. haha

I don’t remember direct questions. I think it should be treated the same way the SAT is.

Well we’re not specifically referencing a question on the test. We’re just asking broad, general questions haha.

If I said, “whats a writ of certiorari?” then I’m not exactly discussing the test am I? haha

yeah…i don’t think they will accept my second answer either…it was kinda…lame…oh well…

"…Of the approximately five thousand cases a year for which review by the Supreme Court is sought, fewer than 5 percent are granted cert. If a case is denied cert, the decision below stands, and with a few exceptions, there are no further avenues of review. "

Yes! I guessed right bahaha

OMG!! yay!! i did that too…i was 90 percent sure it was right.but i’m glad to know…

I think the multiple choice was really easy compared to some of the old tests I took. I was unsure of like 4 of them. I hope the curve isn’t 56-57 for a 5 because that’s really harsh and I want it to be easier to get a 5.

I think I did pretty well on the FR. I don’t really care that we can’t discuss them now.
The one about linkage institutions. I went through all the main ones and couldn’t think of two examples so I chose PACs which was pretty stupid. I still contend that a PAC can link people to the government…it’s just more specific than an interest group.
But anyway, that would be the only area I think I would lose points on.

I was really nervous going in because with both practice tests I took I missed like 6 and would be right on the boundary between 4 and 5.

For one of the FRQs I said lifelong terms for Supreme Court Justices, so the majority party couldn’t impeach them all/vote in all new ones from their party. Think I will get credit?

for linkage, what did they mean…b/c i think i might hav really messed up on it…:(

I skipped the “writs of certiori” lol.
Good thing I did because I would’ve guessed wrong. xD

for linkage, i’m guessing house of rep is wrong…?? :(

Hey guys, I’m just saying this because I care. But there was a guy last year who talked about the AP test, and a guy from the Collegeboard found him through google search, and they had to cancel his score and ban him from taking any more AP tests. Just a word of caution…

For linkage I also used PAC’s. I’m pretty sure that’s correct because it basically links people to the government, so it really can’t be wrong.

@aupamplemousse

Supreme court justices have to do with the judiciary and since it was asking about the Senate & House I don’t think you’ll get credit.

Edit: On second thought, you might get credit if you related it to the senate somehow.

I can’t talk about the specific question but in class we learned that the media was the largest linkage institution.

does the house of rep count as a linkage to gov’t and and public…i know it’s stretching it a bit…/

The house of representatives IS apart of the government, so I don’t think that it would count as a linkage institution. Sorry :(

I don’t think so anamai. :(

Just googled it and even though yahoo answers isn’t exactly the best source, it sounds right to me lol:
