<p>Can anyone on here give me a rundown of the bar scene at Duke? Perhaps a PM is more appropriate as I would like a pretty detailed view of it(names, distances, strictness, etc.)</p>

<p>If duke is the same as it was a few years ago, you don’t need to worry about getting into bars. Durham is not New York City, and the Durham bars that duke students go to rely on duke students for their income. They definitely “look the other way.” The ones that are stricter are frequented by seniors, but you will be fine.</p>
<p>Also, there is a definite shift at duke from a “freshman/sophomore party scene” to a “21 or close enough” party scene. Both are amazing, and you will love every minute of your four years at duke.</p>
