Basically any UC, except Davis

The United States Naval Academy.

are any of these good, cuz ive gotten into these schools and im trying to pick which ones good:
- Bloomington, IN (Indiana University)
- Columbus, OH (Ohio State University)
- East Lansing, MI (Michigan State University)
- West Lafayette, IN (Purdue)
- Miami, FL (UM)
- Washington D.C (American University)

I wouldn't consider major cities to be "college towns" (NYC, Boston, etc.).

I've been to 25 or so college towns and in terms of fun - Madison comes to mind.

madison WI

Evanston, IL?

There are only three true college towns in California and they are all great places to live and go to school:
Chico/Chico State
San Luis Obispo/Cal Poly SLO
Davis/UC Davis

UC Berkeley (berkeley, san francisco)

Bump........bump...bump

Gainesville
Athens
Auburn
Austin
Madison
Berkley
Cambridge

ewww gainesville? everyone from florida (even gators fans like me) know that gainesvill is the armpit of the state. seriously, that place is swampland and a stadium and nothing more.

Greenville, NC is a town that revolves around it's university (ECU). It's a shame they really have not had a competitive football team in years, but def. a lot of tradition and spirit there.

Boulder, CO is wonderful.

Acarta, West Lafayette is the most boring college town I've ever visited. Great school, but - yawn - bor-ing.

I'm partial to, ahem, East Lansing

People love IU too.

Columbus is a fun city, but the college area is a little run down, but pretty good.

You should really visit, though.

Columbia - NYC
UCLA - LA (duh)
IU - Bloomington
Harvard/MIT - Cambridge
UChicago - Chicago

what about DC !!!!

Have to be FSU and Tallahassee.

Gainesville? You're kidding...Gainesville is Starke, FL with a university in the middle. Rednecks and driving to Jax or Tampa.

Miami? You're kidding, too. Miami is NOT a college town at all. Waaay too expensive...plus, take the wrong turn and you may not come out.

Ann Arbor, Cambridge, Ithaca, Iowa City, Madison

IMHO big cities shouldn't be classified as college towns at all (since they are not towns but cities) but they can have great college/university neighborhoods.

Tallahassee, yes I'm biased. Other cool college towns that I've visited, Tempe, Tuscaloosa, Statesboro, Chapel Hill, Austin, and Athens(GA). Gainesville isn't too bad, even if it's full of gator fans.
