I have yet to take a classroom course for the ACT, but I feel self-studying is more efficient if you are disciplined enough to spend your time wisely.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

Buy a couple of prep books. The prep books I have include Princeton Review, Kaplan, the Red Book, etc.

I also have a couple of discs I practiced with when I was bored of just writing.

Good luck on the ACT!

^Like the above poster said, practice! Do not wait until the last minute. For the math section, work on getting all the easy pre-alg/algebra ones in the beginning because you have a higher chance of getting those right. Just brushing up on old skills made my math score jump 3 points alone. For reading, read just to get the basic idea and don’t get hung up on details because you can go back if there’s a specific question asking for details. The kaplan book really helped me and you just have to have self-discipline with things like these to see results!
