The Boston Conservatory vs. The Hartt School

This is my first time posting so I'm sorry if I am doing anything wrong. I have narrowed down the schools I want to go to between the Hartt School and The Boston Conservatory for a Musical Theatre BFA. I know that BoCo is more expensive, so I am currently on the dilemma of is it worth it to take out the amount of student loans it would take to pay for the cost. I also know that BoCo has one of the top programs and is very highly regarded. I do not know much about Hartt. Can anyone tell me anything? I am honestly 100% stuck on the decisions and could really use some more info/advice. Thank you!

Not sure where you live, but in order to make such an important decision, I would call each school to arrange to take some classes and or visit the school. QUICKLY

I already visited both, I am just still very unsure on my decision. Its hard when each school is trying to show you their best and not their faults (what school wants to admit their faults). So I am just trying to get a grasp on the two schools reputation, faults, and overall success.

BoCo is in the city - Hartt borders Hartford but basically is in a suburban setting. Do you want to have a city experience or have more of a campus setting and experience? If you choose Hartt, you will have a more diverse campus life due to there are all types of students in all types of majors there. Think about Hartt if you think you may want to take electives in fields outside of your major since there will be more choices than BoCo, I think you will get a quality education in either school but I can’t comment on music theater specifically. There is a musical theater forum on college confidential - check under ‘college majors’. Maybe post there for additional perspectives.

What sort of job placements do graduates have?
