The Calculus BC Thread (No AB'ers)

yeah you’re fine

I’m just pretending that that test doesn’t exist between now and july because I really don’t want to worry and speculate on “did I do this blah blah”

so from now until july i have no idea what calculus is

I agree with PrattGuy, Calculus doesnt exist until I open that horrible envelope in July.

^^Good plan.
I shall do the same.

hiii can anyone help me predict my score? I want to at least have an idea before I get the letter…I feel like I did pretty badly but I’m still hoping for a good curve to help me out.

MC: left 5 blank, maybe got 4 wrong?
FR: messed up 2 out of the 6 questions, and I made a stupid mistake on one part of another question. the other questions went okay.

@srk0708: That’s a 5 if your estimates are reasonably close.

i thought i got a 4 when taking it, but now that i see the curve and some people agreed w/ me i feel more 5-ish

I take that back.

http://www.skylit.com/calculus/Ch1-AboutExam.pdf

this site has some calculations for raw score conversions into 1-5 scores. scroll down a couple pages on the pdf and you’ll see it

How about mine?

MC: I left 1-2 blank in the MC. Suppose I missed 4.

FRQs: Let’s assume I missed half the pts. I think I missed one/two parts of every freaking question that I recall, so I think 50% is a good estimate.

Thanks in advance.

^ That’s a 5, easily. Maybe its just me, but I feel like theres no way everyone is answering every question and only getting a couple wrong. For instance, if you left 2 blank and missed 4, thats already like a 50 raw score for MC, and you only need a mere 14-16 points on FRQ’s to get a 5! That’s like only doing 2 FRQ’s and not even getting all of them right… Something just seems weird to me.

Yeah, it seems as though like almost everyone here is getting a 5 o_0

this curve seems a bit TOO generous

hey guys, im not asking a mc choice question, but i just wanted to make sure that the non mc section was supposed to go on the second sheet of the bubbles page, cause im like second guessing myself lol

Damn, for 2 FRQ im pretty sure I plugged in 680 instead of 980, despite getting 980 for the first part lol

yeah…i’m definetly doing the whole “pretending the exam doesn’t exist” thing…
plus…i think i’m getting a 1-2…so if i do get higher…i’ll be ecstatic…:)

what do you mean second sheet? It was on page two of the answer sheet, if thats what you were asking. 1-28 on page 2, and 76-92 on page 3.

yeah thats what i meant, thanks for the reply!

I feel as though I made a 5 but it was definitely harder than my practice tests. I skipped 4 total multiple choice (all from non-calculator), 2 of which involved convergence, and totally missed number 6 on free-response. Everything else I feel confident on, but I doubtlessly made some careless errors along the way. Does this put me on track for a 5 overall? Even though most of the stuff I probably missed was BC material?

@marcusf329: At least when I was giving mock in-class exams, most of my cream of the crop students were leaving about four blank per 45 questions, and were getting about six wrong or so. It wouldn’t be inconceivable for some of these results to be accurate, although a number of the students that I worked with thought they were among this group and were getting closer to 10-12 wrong. That’s about a 7 raw point swing…

I’m very confident in the MC. It was very easy this year. Only a few were confusing, so I’m assuming all those are wrong.

I took a practice test and I got seven wrong. Of those, 4 were things I didn’t check. In the real thing, I had to time to go over my answers, so I’m pretty confident. The FRQs were merely my inability to count squares(xD) as well as other details that make me question how much of an imbecile I am. All I need is a 4, but a 5 would be nice. xD

i thought the multiple choice was pretty good, but then i probably made some mistakes on the frqs. number 5d was hard, and i probably epically failed the last one…
