Has anyone heard anything from the Con yet?
Nothing since auditions......

anybody at the con

S got his acceptance today.

Was this by mail…any change to your s. status on the web site? We are out of town so no mail for week…

It was by mail. I don’t know if they put it on the website.

Congratulations to your Son…I think it seems like a great program! My Son accepted a program this week for Music Ed. Vocal, his first choice on the West Coast. He did not want to wait for any other acceptances…but of course Mom would still like to know.

Rejected from Con yesterday. Somewhat relieved in retrospect. Very strange letter and mixed feelings after all the money spent on visits, interview, overnights etc. Letter from Con but says rejected from all of LU which would really be a shocker.
I think regional audition was the biggest mistake.

We are out of town…so who knows, nothing posted on web site. My S did a Regional audition also…not sure i would do that again. Very early in the audition cycle vs. all the other auditions. I think a live audition is the way to go…

Ya. Nothing on website just a letter that says LU at the top. In the letter it says we had too many good student applicants so are not taking you. It doesn’t say anything about music or con. Then at the bottom it is signed by the dean of the Con.

At regional the guy acted like it was a done deal. There was a question about one of the scales and he said instead of doing it again…oh, it shouldn’t matter.
I actuallty loved the school and program. Child terrified of going to school in Wisconsin after this winter since we live in the south

MOMBaritone, congratulations on your son’s acceptance to his first choice! My S is still waffling about his top choice, he loves Lawrence and I think it’s a great fit, but he also is waiting to hear from two more schools.

I am wondering if I should have the neighbor check the mail…but it doesn’t seem like a good idea. In talking to the voice faculty this fall they expressed how competitive it was…only a few of each voice part. So congrats to all that were accepted!

Anyone else accepted to the double degree program?

Yes, my son was accepted. Lawrence is a top choice, but have other options as well. Does anyone know how violin program compares to Carnegie Mellon’s?
