The Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship deadline vs Common App deadline

Has this year's CV Scholarship application process changed? From the CV Scholarship web site, it says that you have to submit the Common App before you can apply for CV Scholarship. It was not the case for last year when I read the CC thread. Can anyone confirm that, this year, you will have to apply common app first and then the CV Scholarship?

I couldn’t figure out a way around it although I’d heard people say you didn’t have to. I couldn’t log in to scholarship applications until after I submitted the common app.

I have no knowledge of previous years, but yes, you have to submit your Common App, receive the Vanderbilt email to set up your account, and then log in to access the CV application. This has been my experience, at least.

is it too late to submit the common app for them to process it in time to make the scholarship application account?

You could probably make it. It takes like two business days for them to email you your myappvu access, which is where you apply for scholarships. so if you submitted your common app this weekend you should be able to start scholarship applications by Wednesday.

thanks! and omg sorry for the triple post ._.

Welcome! Haha that’s okay. My email does that kind of thing all the time.

Luckily for you, the Cornelius does not require additional recommendations, so once your common app is done and you get your my app stuff you can knock out the essays, and don’t forget the other scholarships, though you are too late for the Danforth, that deadline has already passed.

@ZBD5421‌ What is the Danforth? The only ones I knew of were CV, Ingram, Chancelors, Fred-Russel Price and Curb

Danforth is Wash U, by nomination, not Vandy.
