The Countdown to Pi Day: Dun Dun Dunnn

I think I’m more nervous about “pi day” than my boyfriend, who was deferred EA, is.
ha.

Good luck then!

And everyone: we should totally ONLY use this thread for decisions countdown, because DUH the name is sooo much cooler. And because I started it hehe.

No, forreal, one thread for decisions countdown. It makes my procrastination much more efficient.

Good luck to everyone!

PS: A countdown timer for anyone who is extremely excixious (exited+anxious): [Countdown to Mar 14, 2011 9:26 PM in Boston](<a href=“Time since Mar 14, 2011 9:26 pm started in Boston”>Time since Mar 14, 2011 9:26 pm started in Boston)

Only 68 hours?! bites nails anxiously

@periklis

MIT sent you an email about the notification date?

Distraction:
I wore my “MIT, because not everyone can go to Caltech” shirt to my MIT interview.

I have a question to you guys. Is MIT your dream school? If so, what do you see in MIT that you see no where else?

Yep! I just see so much spirit and nerdiness all wrapped into one. If someone wants to start something random and awesome (flash mob, hack, random singing or event) many people will jump in and go along with it, just because it’s something fun to do. The people are so great! They’re all so intelligent, yet extremely humble and helpful. You’ll hardly ever find an extremely cocky person, and everyone works together instead of isolating themselves. Being able to do whatever you wish with research and other opportunities as long as you look for them is also an amazing idea. I do hope I make it, and I know I will miss many things at MIT, but I’ll also get to experience many great things wherever else I go. I’m just excited for college and to go into a new stage in life.

^^ yeah dude. I see the opportunites it opens up. Not the amount, because I see the same amount at other schools (harvard, Duke, etc.), but the quality. MIT has so many research and learning opportunities open up to it’s students in areas that interest me. Plus, in going to a school like MIT, I would surounded by other people with similar interests.

Well that was stupid.

As someone who met the creator of that t-shirt, we should all be so lucky to be as bright, creative, and fun as that Caltech young man.

Is anybody interested in making the decisions thread?

If someone finds a nice, user-friendly copy-paste template and creates the thread, I’ll sticky it and lock it until Monday night.

I’ll do it mollie!

^tmanneopen, there are a couple modifications that need to be made from the EA thread. For one, it should read: “Number of other RA applicants in your school”, and it’s regular action, not regular decision, so that should be fixed in the thread title.

whoops, thanks xD

Damn, I never realized it was actually RA, that’s kinda odd. Mollie, can you fix the title? I fixed the other regular RA stuff in the post. I kinda skipped over that in my mind in being excited that I was making the post xD

@WLsilver: Hell yes, MIT is my dream school! and for a very simple reason: everyone there really knows how to have fun and live it up, but at the same time isn’t afraid to be labeled a… “nerd”. And it just feels like such a friendly school! Every time I visit the MIT website it just makes me smile - everyone is so down-to-earth and outright helpful! It’s pretty amazing, really. I doubt that any other university strikes that perfect balance.
And I’m with tmanneopen on the hacks. I sat down and laughed for 15 minutes straight when I read that MIT students once stole a cannon from Caltech. It just goes to show how much fun MIT is, and it really makes the academic rigor worth the while.

On a different note: Less than 48 hours left now :O

I actually myself use the terminology RD – early action, regular decision.

Yay.

10chars

Ok, that works xD Im so psyched and excited to hear, even if I do get rejected, it’ll at least be nice to know. Good luck to all, we’ll be hearing very soon! :D
