Arizona State…

I would assume that state colleges would probably have the most wild parties.

When I went to SUNY Plattsburgh, I remember there was a huge uproar because some porn crew came to a campus party and filmed the students having sex in a porno.

My current college has yet to beat that.

Actually, a lot of public universities have the worst parties because they’re so commuter-heavy. :/

And it really depends on what you define as “crazy.” Drug use, alcohol, little-to-no clothing, live acts, giant attendance - “crazy” can be a lot of different things to different people.

University of South Carolina
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
University of Wisconsin-Madison
University of Michigan
Penn State University

Basically all of your flagship state universities will have great parties.

^^i agree with cuse.

I don’t get why people think Michigan has such amazing parties. I love the school, am going to go there, and have grown up around Ann Arbor my whole life. But if you want parties, go to any of the other public schools here (MSU, CMU, WMU, EMU, etc). Texas and Miami (FL) have really hot girls and crazy parties.

University of Florida :D

School: University of California, Santa Barbara

Rank: #44 nationally on US News, #12 among publics

Also, someone mentioned commuters. Even though UCSB is a state school, it’s isolated location means that 92% of students live roughly 1.5 hours or more away from the school.

UCSB isn’t especially isolated. It’s right next to SBCC.

Double the colleges = double the fun.

I’m saying Santa Barbara itself is geographically isolated. It’s metro area is about 200,000, but it’s bordered north by mountains, south by the ocean, and the nearest cities west and east are about half an hour away. As a result, in addition to having few commuter students, very very few students go home on the weekends.

Also SBCC itself is 12 miles from UCSB’s campus. However, many students from both schools do live in Isla Vista.

That UNC Chapel Hill video from a few weeks ago comes to mind…

when i say crazy i mean alcohol, sex, girls and activities something like american pie =]

Um, yeah, those are pretty much typical of the schools that people listed. Not exactly how the movie portrays them, but still a lot of fun.

Arizona State + Penn State

Most universities have a large party scene but if you want something outrageous than I would say go to a big 10 school or a school like UT, UF or ASU because with heavily attended sporting event comes heavy pre-gaming. For a little specific information about some of the big 10 schools:

UIUC- Awesome party scene but of the 6 people I know who go there 2 are in the greek system and love illinois but the other 4 aren’t and they HATE it so if you go there either go greek or don’t go at all. BUT I have never seen more attractive looking people in one area in my entire life.

UW-MADISON- If you want an completely outrageous beerfest with a beautiful campus then you should go here. I have never seen crazier parties and Madison is the perfect town for it. It is pretty easy to get into bars if you are not 21 but most have fakes that seem to pass. BUT there are tons pf people who smoke here and most guys tend to lose their six packs after freshman year and replace them with beer bellies.

IU- Absolutely gorgeous campus with an active party scene but is not as blatantly obvious as Madison. On a scale of 1-10 the people were a 7 in attractiveness, but I was only there for a day so I don’t know if I have a good sense of judgement. It is extremely hard to get into the bars if you’re not 21 and there is a chance that fakes wont work.

MSU- I personally believe that MSU has one of the prettiest campuses and their party scene is awesome but the administration is trying to downsize the party reputation. The MSU and Umich game is the best because they are HUGE rivals so there is lot of pre-gaming and crazy parties that follow (especially if MSU wins). The greek system at MSU is awesome but if you’re not in it you can still really enjoy life at MSU.

UC Santa Barbara, ftw. USC too.

MSU parties can definitely be big and crazy. But I think there are other schools that come to mind with bigger party scenes. UofM parties are definitely not as crazy as the other Michigan schools. Within Michigan WMU (aka Wastern) is definitely up there as far as partying goes.

Other schools with big partying scenes; UCSB, Arizona, Arizona State, Miami, U Florida, UW Madison, Penn State, UNC-Chapel Hill, Iowa, Texas, San Diego State

simply put. if you choose a school because of “hot girls”, then I’d double check your priorities in life.
