Is it just me, or did everyone find it hard? I'm a little worried now, because I've been getting high A's on the projects and homeworks, and I got a pretty good score on the midterm, but that final seemed really tough :P

I thought some parts were pretty difficult and others rather simple. I’ve asked around as well, and most people thought it was hard. In terms of grades, from what I can tell, I think your high project/hw/midterm scores are going to keep that grade you want.

I thought it was much easier than the midterm, then again I didn’t do too hot on that (Below average). I think it’s because there was less coding involved and more theoretical/picture stuff. Does anyone know how the grading works? Is it based purely on your score (a 90% and A-, 80% a B- etc.), curved, or based on how others do as well?

There’s no mention of a curve in the syllabus, and as far as I know there was no curve in CS 31, but Nachenberg mentioned more than once that there would be a curve. I assume that is an overall curve to evenly distribute our overall grades, but it might only apply to the final exam. I’m not sure.

Average grade is typically B-/C+ in those classes from what I can remember. As long as you’re above the mean/median on most of the projects you should get a B easily. And they pretty much curve in all CS classes, when I took CS 32 I think the averages were 70s-low80s on projects and 60-70 on the midterm final.
