That doesn’t mean I’m not rooting for it though, I thought TA sucked :P

22: You seen the trailer? It doesn’t matter who Bane is. Heck I don’t even know who the heck Heath Ledger is? And Catwoman? I think a LOT of people know who she is thank to a recent game.

And to anyone that fails to remember Bane WAS that green muscle dude.

Uh, Heath Ledger died after (while?) filming TDK from an antidepressant overdose because the way he stayed in character (as uh, the Joker?) put him in a dark place. The other guy who played the Joker said that the same thing happened to him.

If you think a video game translates to box office in any way other than a tiny amount, you cray.

?.? seriously who is Heath Ledger? Oh the Joker…
Wait were you trying to say people watched Dark Knight because Heath Ledger died? I think most of my friend doesn’t know or even remember who he was at the time…

You and your friends weren’t the only people to see the movie. It was pretty big.

did you watch the whole thing?

@kittycat I watched the first 5 parts of ACT 1. I’ll watch the rest later. It’s so funny though. But I think part one is the best.

Uh, sequels to mega massive movies are usually mega massive and usually increase…

Spiderman 3.
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 and 4.
Shrek 2 and 3.
The Dark Knight.
Iron Man 2.

I mean, the only reason The Avengers was so successful was because it featured other movies’ heroes, not because it was just a good and fun movie. People had already fallen in love with Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and The Incredible Hulk. So in a way, The Avengers is a sequel to multiple movies.

You may be right in thinking TDKR can’t be The Avengers, but you’re definitely wrong in saying that sequels to mega massive movies don’t usually increase.

efeens what is you saying?

Perhaps I should have worded it differently, that threequels usually drop off from a huge 2nd movie.

Spider-Man 2 -> 3
POTC 2 -> 3
Shrek 2 -> 3

That’s the natural order of movies.

But they still decrease anyway.

Iron Man -> 2

That post is entirely wrong. Spidey 3 was insanely bigger than 2. That’s a fact…

POTC 2 isn’t bigger than 3. Again, wrong.

Shrek 3 was bigger than 2 haha idk where you got this from.

I can post some facts and sources if you’d like, or you can do it yourself. But literally every example you posted, the third movie was bigger than the second. At least in opening weekends.

I guarantee, I virtually guarantee that TDKR will have a bigger opening weekend than TDK. Just because the third movie is ALWAYS more successful than the second (in the cases we mentioned).

You must be talking about worldwide, which isn’t really important because studios get a tiny fraction of overseas gross. Look at domestic, they all decreased. Of course it will increase worldwide because overseas markets have been getting exponentially bigger every year. But domestic is the important market.

And I never said TDKR wouldn’t have a higher opening weekend than TDK.

Just read an article. Box Office Mojo has projected TDKR to outgross The Avengers by 80 million. So all argument is thrown out the window. And I guess I just realized that The Avengers didn’t even outgross The Dark Knight in total box office success; I’m fairly sure just in its opening weekend.

No, TA has made 612 million, TDK made 533 million.

And worldwide it made around 400 million more.

Who’s batman

Eep! I’m excited! I’ve got my ticket and costume all ready for the Thursday night/Friday morning showing!

Well it seems my last post stirred up quite a frenzy. Regardless of how well it does in box-office terms, I’m still looking forward to seeing it. I actually had to diagnose Batman with a disorder for AP Psych and I gave him antisocial disorder because he’s fairly aggressive and can’t commit to a woman. Although, he could also have post-traumatic disorder from seeing his parents die at such a young age. AP Psych + Batman = Win.

^lol, sure did. I had some disbelief with some people here (no names).

@sharker, I love that. Batman’s psyche has always fascinated me.

I got 2 tickets to see a 7:00 show on thursday.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using CC

One does not simply explain how pumped he is for The Dark Knight Rises.
