Early reviews are looking good. Movie’s supposed to have more of a Batman Begins feel to it, more comic book-y. I can’t complain, I loved Batman Begins.

I wish I had been in love with Batman when The Animated Series was on…I’ve never actually seen it. Is it on some website or can I get it on DVD or something?

From the TIME review: “That could be a summing up of Nolans Bruce/Batman, and of The Dark Knight Rises. The movie may not top The Avengers at the worldwide box office, but it is a far, far better thing maybe the best, most troubling, assured and enthralling of all the superhero movies.” I just died.

Todd McCarthy, Hollywood Reporter - “Big-time Hollywood filmmaking at its most massively accomplished, this last installment of Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy makes everything in the rival Marvel universe look thoroughly silly and childish.”

Drew McWeeny, HitFix - “Whoever Warner Bros hires to reboot the ‘Batman’ films a few years from now, I wish you luck. The bar is as high as it could possibly be.”

And my personal favorite…

Robbie Collin, Daily Telegraph - “After a breathless, bravura final act, a nuclear payload of catharsis brings The Dark Knight Rises, and Nolan’s trilogy, to a ferociously satisfying close.”

Two days people. Two days.

Well, personally, I have been renting the dvds from netflix. There are some episodes on youtube (like the Harley and Ivy episode), but most are not available on the site. I would just rent them. Go see it. I cannot believe that I have not seen it until now, its just a great show. I hope to watch Batman Beyond afterwards.

I am personally trying to stay away from the reviews in a fear of spoilers Too much excitement :D!

About 46 hours…

AHHH, I now almost want Mountain Dew more than I want to see Batman after reading your post (this is answering the original post, as I would normally read through it all and continue discussion after this, but am allocating my time differently tonight). I’ve still got my ticket for Friday morning at 12 though and am excited, but man, a Mountain Dew that I haven’t tried? The flavors that I remember off the top of my head: original, throwback, livewire, baja blast, whiteout, voltage, midnight black, midnight black 2, supernova (I think- whatever the third one with whiteout and voltage was) code red, and I know I am missing a few – I will never consider diet in a list of Dews though.

Anyways, I’ve been vocal since the year started about how I think this will be the best movie of all the big releases, even with anticipation for the Avengers, The Hobbit, and others. Wonder how it will do in the Box-Office… always interesting to see : D.

And to the post above: Indeed… although I’ll be at an amusement park all day with friends so I won’t be counting down the hours or anything : ).

Fine, I’ll say it, the reviews are slightly disappointing.

Wha?? How are the reviews disappointing?

The only people negatively reviewing this movie are the ones who want to be identified as the people who negatively reviewed The Dark Knight Rises.

So? Toy Story 3’s negative reviews were the same, but that didn’t make it any less disappointing that it got stuck with a 99%, though at least it was in the 90s.

It’s possible for TDKR to hit 90, but I doubt it.

I don’t see how the negative reviews impact your opinion though.

Of course they don’t, but it’s still disappointing.

Ahhhhh I see what you’re saying now. I agree. I just read Roger Ebert’s review and he wasn’t exactly blown away. He needs to put a spoiler alert though…SPOILER ALERT haha I did it for him. But seriously he reveals Bane’s entire plan for the movie in his review. I almost punched the wall out of frustration. So don’t read his review.

But yeah

Seeing it at midnight Thursday (technically Friday I guess). So pumped.

Less than 12 hours people…

Lincoln Square IMAX: Every showing for the whole weekend except Saturday morning at 6:30 is sold out.
