The deal with the 200/1450 spots. (GU)

I am quoting Masta from a post he made on another thread. I just figured I would make a new thread so more people can get this information. Hats go off to Masta to figuring this out.

"I dont think the 200 out of 1450 is the acceptance rate, because they had 1450 applicants for 200 spots, I'm pretty sure they'd accept more considering everyone doesn't usually enroll."

thanks...but I'm a girl...

lol. my bad!

i thought masta was a dude too. the name just implies something masculine. actually almost all CC names sound like their from guys

Yeah. I think we need to offically petition to have masta change her name something to like..I dunno. OCGIRL101, or whatever women like these days ;)

Denzel Washington.

nah, that was like a decade or two ago, now women like...me

It was actually a reference to Family Guy:D

1450 applicants is a surprisingly high number considering Columbia's 1200 and Stanford's 1300.

Just in case you all were wondering...I'm a girl too. ;) Bet you didn't see that one coming a mile away! Ok, so I'm somewhat delerious do to the fact that it's 9am, and I've been up studying all night. Why I am putting this much effort into a final I need to get a 44% in to get an A is beyond me, but. such is life. Tomorrow can't come soon enough!

igarvey,

Especially since the majority are using Georgetown as a "safety school."

I am a girl too, lol :)

"Safety schools" for transfers? I didn't think there was such a thing.

Tell that to alangreenspan#1, and everyone else applying to Georgetown due to the risk of them not being accepted in Harvard or Yale.

or they applied to sfs because it is the only program of its kind in the country

heh........

ahahhahahah.. i didn't apply to georgetown homie.

and yes, alan greenspan is my hero and he will forever be #1 in my book..

i actually had the chance to meet him when i competed in the federal reserve board in D.C.

what is the federal reserve board competition?

the Federal Reserve Board is where Alan Greenspan meets with his fellow members of the Federal Open Market Committee and other Federal Reserve District's Bank presients to make a decision on short term interest rates. This happens 8 times a year..

My competition is a MOCK FOMC meeting.. arugablly the most prestigious economics/finance competition out there.. here is the link with a descriptions:
