I received my acceptance letter into Georgetown yesterday. What's with the $900 deposit...DAMN! It states "This year Georgetown's Admissions Committees considered over 1,500 transfer candidates for approximately 200 space." Good luck guys.

What Georgetown school did you apply to?

green: if they had 200 spaces, it was for the college

200 places just for the college? I thought 200/1500 meant the entire transfer pool.

Nah just for the college. The letter is a bit misleading. It gives total spots for college/total applicants for all 4 colleges.

Both Collegeboard and US News and World Report have Georgetown accepting 400 out of 1400 applicants.

My theory until now has been that the letters refer to the amount of spots for the college. I now, however, believe that the letters only refer to the actual number of spots available, not the actual number of students accepted. You have to factor in yield and all that.

Yeah I think it has to do with the yield, you would think for 200 spots they would have to accept 300-400 students most likely.

Yep.......

Is Georgetown everybody's first choice?

brown was my first choice, until it became ridiculous to get into. now SFS is.

how did you hear brown was ridiculous to get into?

Supposedly this year they are only taking 60 students out of 1200 applicants.

that's harvard ridiculous.

idealistikz, I e-mailed their admissions office inquiring as to how many spots and applicants, and they did respond 60 for 1200 applicants.

Hi everyone, I just got accepted to the business school. I currently go to Stern at NYU and I am abroad in London. I was wondering what schools people are in and if they plan on actually transferring now that their in.
