:( dont worry, it wasnt meant to be, another school u like will accept u and youll like it :)

WHY HASN'T MINE COME YET!?!?! BMK - I'm also on LI and I live in Nassau... shouldn't mine have come before yours if not at the same time?!?! lol

I'm IN! ACDC HERE WE COME!!!!

congrats....add another to the list

I Got In Too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay For Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know, this board so far has an 88 % acceptance rate. thats pretty impressive. 8 out of 9 were accepted.

um.. well 89% if you round up, i truncated

with most everyone here being accepted it almost makes me think getting in isnt that hard after all......now im worried about whether they can revoke it if the grades drop a bit....?

hahaha. i was thinking the same thing silverstonett.. except as two unrelated subjects, not two related things

I asked my mom about why it seemed as though everyone was getting in, and she basically said that the type of people who were really qualified and obsessed with Vassar would be posting on this board.. you know, seeking it out. The reason these numbers arnt the same on the ivy boards is because almost everyone who applies to ivy schools is extremely qualified and enthusiastic.

i doubt they accepted a ton of people early decision just so that they could reject them. lol.

How long were your essays on ECs and why you want to go to vassar?

my extra curricular one was about 250 words, and my why vassar was over a page.

i cant believe we all have to wait until august to actually go there... i wanna go now, or at least find out what dorm im in. i sooo cant wait. ahhhh. im going to vassar. lol i love the sound of that.

anyone have a clue how dorms are assigned? does one list which building one would prefer to be in and then they try to meet that or is it all luck?

also, lovegreens, everyone asks and maybe because i say it so relaxed but they say "Oh you knew you were gonna be accepted!" and im thinking, "no, not at all. i could have easilly been deffered. " By them thinking that I was positive i could get in i think they think vassar is this easy school to get into. I wanna tell them how hard it can be so they congratulate me and be like, wow, he got in.

i dont know, i just cant wait to get there and roam the library

so, out of curiosity, what is everyone's intended major?

I'm so jealous...

I'm in houston and the kids in my AP classes all regard Vassar as a top-notch, selective school. Getting into Vassar is certainly something to be proud of! Congratuations, everyone!

If I get in...Medieval/Renaissance Studies and Political Science, Philosophy, or Music. (Double Major)

I want to double major in sociology and anthropology. w00t.

Lovegreens-
I was going to say what your mom said-- that those of you making the effort to (1)find this site and(2) post on it are a self-selected group who show the higher level of drive and self motivation - exactly what a good VC student should have. And, clearly all of you are passionate about the school. Who knows, maybe the adcomms take a peek here a time or two...
As for dorms, it has probably changed a LOT since I went a gazillion years ago. At that time, they sent you a form to fill out about yourself to aid in the roommate selection/match, and asked you to list your dorm preferences, in rank order. For any of you females on here, there is only one all female dorm, should you want this (Strong - appropriate name, eh?). It is one of the quad dorms. I chose Joss (Josselyn) and loved it. Lived there for 2 years, then moved to Main for the next 2 years. I was not interested in living in the TH's (which were a year old when I got there) or the TA's (which were built while I was there). I had a lot of friends who lived in both, and they were fun to visit, but I preferred the social connectedness of the dorms and the ACDC. (I also didn't want to cook and clean...) They opened the ACDC during my sophomore year. I must say, I really liked having the diningrooms in the dorms-- you could stagger down to breakfast in your robe and slippers, get a cup of this really rich hot chocolate that was so rich it had a bit of a head on it (it was like drinking hot chocolate pudding), reading the NY Times, then staggering back to bed... Each dorm was known to have a talent for cooking a certain meal-- for example Davison was known to have really good roast beef, so on the roast beef nights, the dining room was packed. We had a formal dinner in Main for the last dinner in Main (tablecloth/candles formalwear, etc) and presented each other with a placesetting of the VC silverplated silverware (oops, did I just admit that?). I shouldn't worry, the older silverplated silverware was found in the Wimpfheimer Nursery school, and often in the sandbox...
OK, I'll stop strolling down memory lane. But remember, all of you will be doing this as well for those in the classes behind you. CONGRATS to all of you! You will love it!

Yes, I am sure we will all have fond memories of VC in the future, just as you do, Jym626! I just can't wait to begin acquiring these memories!! In regard to the "what will you major in" question, I am planning on double majoring in neuroscience and music, on the premedical track.
