wasn't amargrosa going on some sort of trip? i remember something about her not being home after the 16th.. hrm.. i dont know

i thought i wouldnt want to be in noyes either, but when i visited thats the dorm i stayed in. the rooms are just as nice as the rooms in any other dorm and the lounge is pretty cool, very retro. plus they have this thing called the "passion pit", just use your imagination. Also, everybody in noyes loves their dorm, they think its the best one on campus, whereas the rest of the college thinks its the ugliest one. so basically i dont think you can go wrong with any dorm, either way you'll be having a good time.

hmm... how do we get bumper stickers??

i think you can order them online from the bookstore

You have to email them and ask them to tell you what they have.

As for me, I plan on going up one weekend in the morning to get some Vassar stuff.

i emailed them and i have not received a response yet. :-(

Lovegreens- they may be on winter break. You can check with your local alumnae group. Sometimes they may have stickers. I have a few-- but they are VC alumnae stickers. In my tinted back window, you can't see it anyway...

good point jym626! i emailed them earlier this week so i thought maybe i had sent it in before vacation but perhaps not. I suppose i will just wait and see. plus right now, by posting here, i am procrastinating on a term paper. so im going to go back to that

Lovegreens-
According to the academic calendar, this past week was exam week (big change-- we had exams in January, after the holiday break when I was an undergrad-- disliked that a lot!)Anyway, the folks inthe college store probably used this past week to get all the book shipments open and the books organized for next semesters classes. This is a daunting task, that always happens at this time of the year (and ditto for the beginning of the school year). Also, the store comonly employs students that help with the store sales, and their semester campus job may be up during exams week. Not sure, but it is certainly possible. So- the store is probably understaffed and overworked this week. Maybe Silverstonett can buy a bunch and you guys can buy them from him!

Hmmmmm at a nice markup.....i can see the money coming in already. Ill keep people informed as to when I go but its gonna be when their break is over because I wanna go on a day that the people have classes or at least are there. That way if you want one I suppose I could buy a few and just send them to people. To be figured out later...

happy new year! let the count down begin- about 7 months and 3 weeks till orientation week.

been kinda quiet here lately... what do you all like to do for fun besides get accepted to vassar?

Wait.. there are other things in life other than getting accepted ED to Vassar?

lol. Um, i like to dance, watch "The West Wing" (although im not so sure about the newer epsiodes...), have fun, watch movies, argue with people, drive... uh i'm sure that there's other stuff that i like, but i just cant think of it now.

does anyone else watch the west wing?

lovegreens, I'm a RD applicant, but "The West Wing" is my favorite show!

never really watched the west wing, im usually studying so that i can get into college. but with that out of the way now i can do fun stuff again. i have to admit, im a big south park fan. it's so politically incorrect in every way possible but i think its hilarious. im a big music geek too, so i listen to lots of music and play my sax (tenor obviously, its the only kind to play). just think lisa simpson but jewish and less yellow.

Heh. I love South Park (guilty pleasure). It's definitely not PC, but it's not racist either - they make fun of all races equally. I also play the sax (baritone) and the piano. I <3 latin - I'm probably going to major in the Classics. I'm quite a fan of the Twilight Zone and these days, I listen to a lot of Counting Crows, Coldplay, and increasingly more jazz (Coltrane, Monk, Davis, etc.). My father is Jewish, my mother nothing - I'm an atheist. Any other Vassar ED acceptees care to share information about themselves?

bari's cool too and jazz rocks (coltrane's one of my favorites, he's just awesome. check out A Love Supreme if you've never heard it). I like latin too which is a good thing cuz ive taken it for the past 6 and a half years. Mythology and all that stuff is really cool, but I don't know if I'm gonna continue latin at Vassar, I really want to learn to speak a modern language. Spanish or Italian might be cool.

OMG the twilight zone is SO good! the only time it's ever on though is the new year's marathon on sci fi (that's the only thing i watch on sci fi, the marathon used to be on the WB, and i followed it over to sci fi). Is it on during the year?

"just think lisa simpson but jewish and less yellow." hahaha awesome.

South Park is funny, but i really like Chappelle's Show. It's even less politically correct, but it's REALLY funny. Dave Chappelle is hilarious. I also like the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. It's pretty funny. Not in the same kind of way as south park though...

well, I am not quite into South Park...When I have time (and I am attempting to make more time for myself now that I got into Vassar), my favorite television shows are "24" and House. Though, it's funny that Lisa Simpson was mentioned...there were a few episodes where Vassar is actually mentioned. My main passion/hobby/lifelong talent is classical piano (if any of you see some kid with black hair and medium height going crazy playing a Steinway piano in one of the dorms, don't be surprised, because it's probably me!) I also play clarinet in school, though I am not quite as passionate about it as I am about piano. Hence, I plan on double majoring in music (performance), and either neuroscience or biology. I intend to be on the pre-medical path. Anyone who wants to talk about vassar, or life in general, IM me- my screen name is bmk6789. Good luck to everybody for a successful end to the school year, and a glorious beginning to our futures in THE CLASS OF 09 AT VASSAR COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, and I wish all the luck in the world to those people applying to Vassar ED II and RD.

24 is cool too, i watched it for the first time this weekend actually. Very action packed. My dad was geting so into it, too bad he didnt realize it's in real time.
There are a lot of music-y people here, when we get to vassar we should start our own band featuring classical piano, jazz sax, and whatever other random stuff we can think to add. Ive also talked to another sax player who got in, so we're up to 3 people so far.
