The "Easy GE" List

Hey can you guys recommend any easy GEs to take? I'm kinda looking for some, especially easy life science GEs w/ lab credit.

Atmos sci 2/2L or 3/3L with Professor Lew...trust me...easy A....you have
7 open note open book open neighbor quizzes, 2 take home quizzes, and 2 exams and all of them are pretty easy. Psych 10 with Schlinger...im taking that now during summer school and he's super easy, though i dont think he is teaching during the year.

earth & space science 7 (space weather) with moldwin - physical science

schlinger teaches at cal state northridge during the year and his summer class is incredibly easy. i took it 10th grade summer and got an A. but that doesnt count for any GE unfortuatnely.

I have two picks for science, both labs.

Phyiscal Science with lab:

The best easy class to take is Astro 3 with McLean, its easy and interesting.

I got a 98.9% before the extra credit lol, an 8th grader could get an A in this class no problem. Lectures and test are very straightforward and do not focus on details. What makes them so easy is that if you attend lecture and get a feel for the vocabulary you can eliminate 3 wrong answers easily (multiple choice tests). In another words, if a question asks about a star, there would be one correct answer and three other answers that were about stuff in the class, but not stars.

Life Science with lab:

Phy Sci 5 is a good choice because its lab is a project that is super easy and graded VERY easy. Also, you never have to go to class because 100% of the test material is right out of the reader and the lectures are the reader. (They will tell you this upfront).

Contrary to what Bruinwalk says, I'd take it with Barnard/Roberts (Fall Quarters) not just Roberts alone. True Barnard is borning, but you don't need to go to class so that really doesn't matter, but his midterm was cake--much easier than Roberts'

Philo 2 and Econ 2.

Easiest Life Science are Geography 2 and 5... although one of my majors is Geography...

Atmos Sci 2 & 3 with Lew (coincidentally my other major) are the easiest Physical Science ones. And this isn't just because these are my majors that the material is simple for me... these classes just happen to be ridiculously easy.

what about an easy one to fullfill the literary and cultural analysis req?

what did you guys do for the lab component?

Yeah that is a down side, boring labs. The TAs will basically give you the answers though. There was stuff like making a telescope, using a spectrometer, stuff in the planetarium, etc...They're no big deal, not very hard and not graded hard, but a bit tedious. No like lab write ups, just fill out the worksheet.

anyone know about Astromony 5?

I've heard its much harder and less interesting than astro 3.

Dustyb20: harder how?

I am consided to be an ESL student but is it because i didn't pass ay of my ap english tests and analytical writing exam? I lived in the US for more than 8 years and i do acknowledge my english is not that great. They recently send me an e-mail saying i must fulfill my esl requirement, entry level requirement and english composition 3 before of my freshmen year. I'm scared if i don't do well i will be kick out of school. are the classes hard for esl students???

Arts and Architecture 10 with prof. Israel is a guaranteed A and its enjoyable

yeah, but unfortunately, it fills up incredibly fast... I tried to take it last winter and during my priority pass it had already reached the cap, and then I checked back during first pass and it was pretty much closed...

anyone know how arts and arch 10 with winters is?

any input on history 1a ?

collegegirlgirl - you can just look up winters on bruinwalk to get an idea...

jasonx88,

depending on who you have it with it shouldn't be too terrible... when I took it, I was definitely bored stiff but then again, I don't really like history...
