The ever annoying...What are my chances?

<p>intense public school in mass
thinking political science major</p>

<p>sat: 1410--780 math, 630 verbal
sat2: 710-math1c, 720-math2c, 730-writing
gpa: (MY MAJOR WEAKNESS) 3.6 w, 3.3 uw
act: 32</p>

<p>ecs: (all 10-12 except for student council -- but i wrote my essay on why i didnt start them until 10)
student council -- class rep (9,10) secretary (11) president (12)
peer leadership -- board member (12- one of four)
sadd
absaf -- basically fundraising group for school activities, ~40 community members, 4 students (one for each grade)</p>

<p>project graduation volunteer -- (9-11) tonnnnnns of hours
2 jobs since sophomore year, with the two of them i work 40 hrs a week, 70 in the summer</p>

<p>essay explains extracurrics and gpa, but i dont think it will help my pitiful gpa...

<p>Your SAT is decent, but your GPA is a bit low, and its good that your essay addresses this. Your ECs look great...being class president is not a bad thing at all. </p>

<p>I think you have a good chance, but not a great chance mainly due to your GPA, it would have been better for you to apply ED. However, you're still a competitive applicant.</p>

<p>I applied ED and got in....I had a 3.3 unweighted GPA as well...my SAT was 1460</p>

<p>thanks for your help! i was originally planning to apply ed to nyu, but my parents strongly suggested i apply ed to penn (even though i knew i had no chance in hell)- they both went there...</p>
