The final countdown!

it kills me to even think that my college fate has already been decided... but i still won't know about it for another 2 weeks or so

Essentially, if we don't receive Vandy mail that Saturday after mailing, there is a big chance that we got waitlisted.

It's seriously going to be a crapshoot for us. Like, someone may have slightly higher SAT/ACT scores than another person, but that other person has a slightly higher GPA. And so many ECs are comparable to the ECs of other applicants. I don't know how they'll determine the waitlists from some of the accepted students.

I was shocked to see that they priority mail the acceptances and standard mail the waitlists and denials. Kind of a strange idea.

7-8 more days until we know if we got accepted or waitlisted (from the mail [or lack of] on Friday or Saturday)!!!

Yeesh.

Wait, so we should expect a decision by saturday the 28th?

That's my springbreak and I'll be out of town... guess I'll have to wait another week. Balls.

Ok. Well, I'll just copy what Thom wrote on the blog.

I guess it depends where you live. ANYWAY. Here we go!

Admit letters go US Priority mail (in those envelopes you see), so I would think that most places would get them on Saturday (3/28) or possibly Monday (3/30). All other decisions (waitlist and deny) go regular US mail (so they should arrive by Tuesday in most places). Our target date for notifying international applicants of our decisions is Friday 3/27 via email. And we send out the big admit packets to ED students as well as admitted RD students. We can begin releasing decisions over the phone starting April 1st, so if you have not received it by then, call us.

I almost wish they sent all notices via the same method. Now I will know immediately whether I got in by the envelope.

I'm still thinking the impossible may happen ...

27 for internationals??? God, I'm so nervous. Vanderbilt is still my dream school after all these months but it seems like a longshot. My stats aren't that great but I know they have to accept at least two students from Israel for the Delek Scholarship. Plus, the admissions rep stressed that scores aren't everything when it comes to international because they understand the circumstances. TOO VAGUE!

Sorry about the freaking out - good luck to all of us!

USPS guarantees 2-3 days mail time for Priority. Thus, it will be a LONG weekend for many. It's too bad that they can't drop ship on Wednesday. That way nearly every domestic applicant will have an answer by Saturday.

I think assuming for me (I live in Florida), if I don't get anything on Saturday, I'll be waitlisted.

Too bad I have an AP Physics C mock that Monday. I'm pretty convinced I'm going to fail it from stressing about the impending doom.

I live in Texas, so I think Saturday would be reasonable for me, too.

hopefully texas will come saturday.
vandy admissions, can you send me a tracking number on my packet :D !?
and hilsa, chillll outtttt.

No! I have assumed the role of the token overly anxious student! I must fulfull my duties of complaining about stressing as much as possible!

;)

Physics is my Achilles' heel so luckily any worrying I would do wouldn't really matter anyway.

I find the role you've taken on useful hilsa, keep it up - you also provide some pretty good info. Thanks and good luck!

hilsatroll was more useful. too bad hes gone...

/sarcasm

Hahaha. hilsatroll was funny. I almost forgot about him.

Anyway!

Guys. If we assume Saturday is THE day, then we officially have 6 days left.

(Oh, and thanks Goodschoolhopefully!)

As much as I hate the suspense, I think the wait actually helps me. Whenever I start thinking about Vandy, I force myself to go get all my artwork done for the AP submission.

Will decisions be posted online or do you have to wait for the mailing to know for sure?

Sssssnail mail!

Less than 2 days until mailing! >_<

I like how Steven, Luke and I take over the comments on the VU Blog.
