The first hurdle is impossible. :O

I'm not a gifted writer, but given ample procrastination, I think I'm able to scrawl something that won't make a reader's eye twitch.

I've already nailed one essay down (wooo!) but I think it's impossible to even nurture an idea for the second for more than a few seconds.

The prompt goes : "Write an essay in which you tell us about someone who has made an impact on your life and explain how and why this person is important to you."

I realize that this isn't necessarily a hard essay to write, but it has been cliche'd to the point where any idea sounds bad. I mean, all routes eventually lead up to the point where there's some "epiphany" or "self-discovery" that evokes some sort of change in the writer, right?

Was I just given a bad essay topic? Or am I just a poor thinker? Any ideas are warmly appreciated, even if they are laced with bits of sarcasm. =p

Well, I'm not particularly well-versed when it comes to writing college essays, since I'm just starting to write them myself, but just write what comes naturally to you? I mean, we're at an advantage since it's summer time, and at least for me, it helps to let my brain chew on a topic for a few days, which results in me having random bursts of inspiration at unexpected moments. I'm just letting my essays come naturally, and am trying as hard as I can not to worry about being original or anything. But for this one, I don't know, is there any person who really has changed your life? Like has given you new perspective? For me, it's pretty simple, my best friend has impacted me more than anyone ever has. It's actually a pretty good question. Just try letting your brain think about it for a while and go on with your normal life! It's working for me at least.

I'm sorry, I have no idea if this helped. :p
